His wife was Sarah Padley and i have found her and their daughter who is also missing from the census as Lucy Padley, think she could be working in an orphanage in Liverpool. I now think i have found his death in a workhouse, so sad. Thank you for all your help in this matter, its taken some time to try and piece this together. thank you again.

He isn't a miner, he's working on the railways. What are his wife's details?

Yeh i looked at that 1881 census but can't think why if he was a miner, why he would be over in lincolnshire, but then again who knows, but i can't find a death in lincolnshire for him so presume he died somewhere else, so if it is the one in ashton, don't know why either, might have to waste money and get certificate for ashton, to see if its him, otherwise i don't know.

im sorry for not putting much information on, but i did have a link for something similar and didn't want to repeat, i only wanted to know about the Samuel Padley in 1891 so that i could take him of my list. I have a Samuel from Laughton who disappears on the 1881 census from rotherham, and then in 1891 on daughters marriage certificate, says he's dead, cant find him on the census, that some people have looked for and even more so can't find him on free bmd or deaths anywhere born approx 1849 laughten le morthern.
