I think if you delete someone from your contacts list then all correspondence goes too. Maybe thats why the tree has closed down too
I suppose you could try again with an explaination as to why its been some time since the last contact, its down to you really.

I have just noticed that a gentleman I made contact with nearly 2 years ago has closed his tree to me. What puzzles me is that all messages between us have gone from my in-box. I didn't think that could happen.

We did also have some contact by e-mail and in my last message to him in April, 2009 I said I was about to have a medical procedure, but would be in touch again soon. However, following that I was unwell for some time and, I'm sorry to say, I forgot. I know his birth year was 1925 and am wondering if he may have died. I don't know whether to try and contact him again.

Any advice please?
