Hi Angela.
Here is the deaths listed on Victorian index's, showing the Reg. No's Death certs in Australia normally supply quite a lot of info. Place of birth, cause of death, parents, last place of address, informants name and how related to the deceased, how long in the country, how long married, ect,ect...including any living or deceased children and names, ages of children.......of the deceased person/s.
Surname: CREWE Given Names: Esther Caroline Father: Rose Herbert G Mother: Elizabeth Bl UNKNOWN Death Place: KEW Age: 84 Age Code: Year: 1979 Reg Number: 937 Event: D
Surname: BOYCE Given Names: Edna May Father: Crewe Ambrose Mother: Ester Caroline ROSE Death Place: GEEL Age: 49 Age Code: Year: 1974 Reg Number: 12997 Event: D
Deaths on cd. Index for the state of Victoria only allow searches up to 1985.
Edna May BOYCE was buried at Portarlington,so checking the Cemetery index for Portarlington there is a Graham BOYCE listed here who died very recently ( Oct 2010 )...so only 4 months ago, and possibly why you couldnt find reference for his death. There was only one Graham BOYCE listed so feel reasonably sure he is your Graham. Looking at the Burial location ref:*2***70 they are buried together.
8216 BOYCE EDNA MAY 07 Jun 1974 Portarlington P/COE*2***70
9009 BOYCE GRAHAM 27 Oct 2010 Portarlington P/COE*2***70
Cemetery Portarlington Location P/COE*2***70 Register # 9009 Surname BOYCE Given Names GRAHAM Service Date 27 Oct 2010 Date of Birth 05 Feb 1926 Date of Death 23 Oct 2010 Age 84

Have checked a few Cemeteries around Melbourne for Esther Caroline CREWE...but nothing found. A purchase of her death cert "should" give her burial place.
Just to add. Someone knew the birth date of Graham BOYCE ( listed on burial ref ) As his wife and MIL were already deceased, it could be a clue that the imformant giving the info knew him well .........decendants/kin?

Hi Angela.
Kew is a suburb of Melbourne in the state of Victoria. Geelong is a large Town/City in Victoria and approx 1hr drive from Melbourne. Portarlington is a suburb on the Geelong Peninsular ( coast )
VICTORIA..... B.D.M's Enquire: http://online.justice.vic.gov.au/
Restrictions to access: Under the Victorian Registry of Births, Deaths and Marriages' Access Policy, the following restrictions apply: birth and change of name records are restricted from public access for 100 years or until the person has passed away, whichever is the later; Marriage records are restricted from public access for 60 years or until both parties to the marriage have passed away, whichever is the later; Death records are restricted from public access for 10 years.
bdm's for the state of Victoria can be downloaded to your computer on-line,( credit card ) as long as they fall inside the restricted access time. ( Australian Privacy laws )
If the person/s died in Kew its quite possibly they are buried at Kew ( Booroondara ) Cemetery

If you need help eg: ( Death Reference numbers ) let me know, as i carry bdm cd's for Victoria.
