so I have just spent quite some time composing a comprehensive email on the technical problems I previously complained about through the Contact Us facility in Help above.


Of coruse there's no-one in the GR offices at this time of day!

I've just spent about 50 mins trying to open this thread. A random selection of others opened but this one remained stubbornly closed. I didn't get any maintenance messages. What is going on??

According to GR timings I spent 10 mins putting up the last post. My watch said it was under 3 mins!

I've been getting in threads .... sometimes ............ but then when I try to post, about 50% of the time I get:-

sorry we are performing essential maintenance on Genes reunited, we apologise for any inconvenience


My email that I spent so long composing has bounced back as undeliverable ...... blocked

I want to post on Help Clinic as that now seems to be the only way to communicate with Genes ..... but that just white pages

Just got an email from GR telling me all about their wonderful new site - sent a bit prematurely methinks. They tell me

Help Clinic –We now have expert volunteers on hand to help you through any stage of your family research. We will ensure all queries are answered within 5 days.

Did they not have expert volunteers before? It sounds like they are suggesting the starry people ARE better than the rest of us.

it's possible that people have clicked Submit more than once in an attempt to get something working ........ just as I have been doing!

But what is funny, is that some of those postings have different times of submission

"We will ensure all queries are answered within 5 days." There are still some in the Clinic, posted on the 18th Nov, which haven't been resolved. They have had answers though so perhaps that is what they mean.

there've been lots of postings on Help Clinic, the last one just 9 minutes ago


However, many posters have recived more help via pms from other memebrs than they have received on the Clinic

I did get a reply about things I had said about theHelp Clinic ..... similar to what you got. Including the fact that the person replying to me and her colleagues would be meeting this week to discuss the changes. And my concerns would definitley be brought to the attention of the Management Team.


It was other technical complaints that got no response ................. only one got a sort of "thank you. We are working on the problem",

all the others were seemingly ignored.
