My OH had an email to book phone interview today following 3 months of please be patient ones. We originally applied at the same time, I had my phone interview in November and last week had another "we'll be in contact soon" email. The training was supposed to be in Feb!

I had a similar one on the 10th Jan, a month ago, but nothing since.

A week ago I had a second 'holding' email saying they were still processing applications. and would be back in contact 'soon'.

No news is good news???? :-)

They must be reading this thread, cos an hour later I got another email telling me they had invited me to book an interview, but I hadn't done so, so would I please like to. I don't think I'll bother.

Madmeg, that is so funny. I hope they gave a good interview. If you don't get an offer at least you can call them and tell them you never had an interview, but the person who actually had the interview will be waiting for an email that may never come.

Madmeg - I wonder who they phoned then! I hope they did you justice!

Very amusing is that fact that I booked my telephone interview, but it never happened. Today I had an email from them thanking me for going through the telephone interview process and they would get in touch with me shortly.

I had my interview on 4th jan and received an email 2 days later saying that I had a conditional offer and to send references etc/ photo, proof of ID but sods law my foot has been playing up lately as I have plantar fasciaitis and am finding it painful to walk. I have had to pull out and I am gutted.

Almost 2 months after my phone interview I received this reply today -

"Thank you for completing your interview for the role of Census Collector.

We are still assessing interview results from all candidates. We will contact you again regarding the outcome of your application in the near future.

In the meantime, we appreciate your patience."

It seems to be a much more complicated and protracted selection system being used this time!

I can understand your frustration with the questions but given the number of applications they receive they do need a way of 'sifting the wheat from the chaff' before they proceed further.

To be honest I don't think the questions were 'stupid'.

I can see where they were coming from and what they were looking for in the answers.....Maybe I had a 'heads up' as I spent many years interviewing during my working life.

I had my interview yesterday. It seemed to go well and The lady was Welsh, so I guess I got lucky -- someone I could understand.
Now it's time to wait and see.

No phone call today. So wave bye-bye to that one.

Well, arranged a telephone interview for 12 noon today. Came and went, no phone call. Arranged another now for 29th December. We shall see. Maybe they are snowed up, and can't answer their emails.

Yeh, I've now passed the tests. Trying to organise the telephone interview. Have organised two, neither seem to work.

I had an email last week saying that I was on the reserve list for special enumerator.
Today I've had an email asking me to call them if I wanted to be considered for census collector. It said that I wasn't sure to get an interview but to wait for an email asking to call for an interview date.

I wanted the other position first but it's better than nothing.

I will wait and see what happens. I thought the siftabilty test was crap. All they wanted me to do was grass on colleagues that had been whinging, which I could not do.

Very strangely they have now offered me a slot tomorrow morning. Interesting. I might tell them to stuff it. But maybe let them sweat a while longer.
