Particularly for Rutland Belle. Many years ago I was an Examiner for a professional body. I was the only woman out of 8 Examiners. I once asked the question, in a meeting, how we were expected to find the time to perform a certain administrative task and all 7 men answered together "No problem, my wife does it for me"!!!! |

Ok everyone. Thank you so much for looking. It was worth a try. Would have been nice to know what they looked like, as in height etc. But thanks for trying everyone. |

Allison, looks like everyone has exhausted the possibilities and unfortunately the records did not survive. |

There are nearly 3000 records for William Wood, to help search would really need William's year of birth. |

Allison if you are lucky you may find some service records but bear in mind that over half of them were destroyed by fire during the blitz in WW2, if you do find any records they can give a lot of info. If you want me to look on Ancestry for you I can do that |

If i put the name and rank and number of a soilder, is there any way of finding out more information. I have gathered a lot, but wondered what other information is given on ancestry, as i don't hold it. I have his service numbers and place of death and informant, just wondered. |
