I'm looking for James Cummings born about 1864, I have found him on the 1901 and 1911 census but can't find him on the earlier ones. It has been suggested he may have been Scotish possibly Irish. Can anyone help

On the 1901 and 1911 census his birthplace is stated as Birkenhead,Cheshire. as is his wife. occupation Horse keeper.

On the 1901 and 1911 census his birthplace is stated as Birkenhead Cheshire as is his wife Jane, occupation horsekeeper.
We think he may have said he was born there as his wife was and he came from Scotland, possibly Ireland.
Father also James, a farmer. (on marriage cert)

Occupation on 1901 and 1911 census is horsekeeper and on marriage cert. 1894, it is coachman. Wife Jane Birch. He just doesn't appear on the Englan/Wales earlier ones.

Still can't find a James Cummings born in Birkinhead about 1864 though!!!
The nearest I've found is 1858 as in this one....

His father (also James) is stated as a farmer.
the witnessed where Walter Crowder and Mary Louisa Reece, the married at St Mary the Virgin, West Derby, Liverpool.
