I found newspaper articles from Suffolk. I already knew about them as I have been to the records office, but the article I found on this site helped to solve a little query I have regarding the 'proper' family name. It was an article about the same offence he committed, but was in a different newspaper. It would seem that our relative used an alias. This Alias ended up being our family name today and not the original surname. So had he not then our surname would be different today. |

Hi. sorry for the late update, I did put an update on another thread regarding joseph Callon. which was to do with his father, but just to let you know, I went to A2A on line and found the filiation order for Joseph Callon To his father James Crank and he had a certain amount to pay each week to the administrators of the poor, I sent for a copy of the original document which was sent to me for the cost of £5, well worth it. |

This site is lethal! I logged in to it two hours ago!! and had to drag myself away at 1p.m. Make sure you have a lot of time to browse , it is so comprehensive and interesting, I may not leave the house tomorrow! |
