No problems with the questions I appreciate the help, not sure whether there was multiple births - I would think there would have to have been really for the amount of children, Elmin was born in Notting Hill and was 9 in 1911.

The dates of the other births are 1887, 1889, 1890, 1891, 1895, 1896, 1897, 1903 and 1907

Thanks

Sorry to keep asking all these questions, but ....

1) When & where was Emlin/Edwin born?
2) Did she have any multiple births?
3) When you list the year of birth of the children where are the gaps that missing children might be?

Hi Ozi

Yes got the original printed as wanted to check the names, it does look like Elmin, but to be honest it could be Edwin or Edmin, their spelling didn't appear to be the best in 1911

Have you seen the image of 1911? Is Elmin the correct spelling?

Hi

No there was two born between 1901 and 1911 which were Marie May and Louise - there is also on the 1911 Census an Elmin and an Elizabeth who I can't find for some reason - so four were born between 1901 and 1911 that I know of and the other 7 that have I have found were born between 1887 and 1897 - the missing ones I don't know when they were born apart from it being sometime between 1888 and 1901??

Many Thanks

Ozibird Report 12 May 2010 21:19

Sorry, 18. So she had 16 between 1901 and 1911 after a gap of 12 years? Or did some die between 1891 and 1901 census?

Hi

Thanks for looking, Emily definately wasn't married before - on the 1911 Census it confirms that she had been married 23 years and had had 18 children of which only 6 were still alive in 1911, if this helps?

Thanks

Hi Gwyn

We are still looking for a Percy, 2 x Elizabeth (not sure why they were both called the same), Elmin and possibly a Michael, but do not know all the names of the ones we are missing unfortunately.

Thanks so much for your help

Could you list who you are looking for please?

Did Charles change occupation at all?
I can see some, ( other than the Emily Maria ones) but not as a wood chopper.

Hi Gwyn

They all seem to be in the London area - I have found two that were baptised in St Matthew, St Marylebone (Westminster), 2 at St Mary, Bryanston Square (Westminster), 1 at St James, Norlands (Kensington & Chelsea) and 2 at All Saints, Notting Hill (Kensington & Chelsea) - found all of these on Ancestry but cannot find the missing ones 9 children, I have some of the names possibly but still no luck

Thanks x

What area is this and what sort of years?

Many parish records have been handed in to county archives, so it's a bit hit and miss as to where registers might be.

Sometimes children were taken to their parents' home area for baptism.
eg. I've seen baptism records in Herefordshire of children born in Wales.

Someone on this site may even have records.
Post a few more details and we can perhaps guide you better.

I just wondered if anyone could point me in the right direction - I have found 9 of the 18 children my nan had, and have their baptism records so know where the churches were/are, does anyone know whether I was to send them the information that I have ie: mother/father details, occupation and details of siblings whether they would be able to look up in their records to see whether there were any other baptisms that took place that I haven't been able to find on Ancestry??

Thanks
