Good morning friends............it sounds as though Reece is having a really good sort out! When we downsized we had to get rid of a lot of books too and it's amazing how attached you can become to some of them! I mean, why on earth have I kept a rather tattered collection of Famous Five books??????
Something needs to be sorted about the shark situation Sue.....it sounds as though things are getting out of control with the powers that be re rules and regs.
Here is the latest update from Sylvia.....
Things are slowly getting better. I did create some worry in the hospital as my blood pressure would not come down.
It started at 183 just before the operation
reached over 200 on post-op
got as high as 227 on the ward late on Tuesday afternoon.
I did not have any other symptoms, such as headaches, etc, and felt pretty OK ............ having had very high bp before, I know how rotten it can make you feel!
They called in an internist, who prescribed another bp medication, but thought I should go home the next day as I might well feel better at home ........... with the caveat that I had to keep taking my own bp, and go to my own doctor or emergency if it did not come down.
Fortunately it is ................. highest now is 170, but it has been down in the 130s.
A Public Health nurse comes on Monday and Thursday to change the dressing,and will do any other necessary things, such as removing the staples.
Staple removal should be some time next week .... 7-10 days after the op,hopefully!
I am stapled up from here to eternity!
shouldn't fall apart any time soon!!
I see the surgeon on October 31st and will know then whether I will need any further treatment.
Glad to know all is going to plan. Hopefully she will be back with us as soon as she can type with more than one finger!
We continue to send her our love....

Hi Everyone
It is nice to see a few more faces popping in ,everyone is welcome on here.
Cynthia that is wonderful news on Sylvia being home already,I do hope she can come on line soon ,I don't think I would be as brave as she has been and to go through it all twice...god bless her.
My visitor is still here and it looks like I will be driving him back home to Perth on Tuesday.
Our football team played today in the semi Finals but alas we lost so our football season is over until next year but I welcome the Cricket now...the OH does not get so vocal with that..
Anne the Sharks over here are protected by law even if they kill a person ,the ocean according to the powers that say we are entering into there territory,stupid if you ask me . When the holidays start they will have to do something because this 5mtr White pointer is a man eater and during the holidays this town is very busy and the water is full of families with lots of children playing on the Beach ....sorry to say I can see more deaths the way the Sharks are getting more and more game to come close to shore. We have already told out lot to stay out of the Water just in case. So much for living next to a lovely protected bay,now the Sharks have control of it.
I am off to get dinner ready Spaghetti Bog tonight that should keep the natives happy......and it was easy for me to make too.
Love to everyone Big hug for Sylvia .....we miss you. <3

Good morning friends,
Popped in to say all good wishes to Sylvia for a comfortable recovery after the operation and hope all is going well. The Pink Boa must be a help! My younger grand daughter would love one of those - pink is her favourite colour but then so is mauve/lilac/purple!
Belated birthday greetings to Anne -remember the parties we used to have on our birthdays? All gone....have a great weekend in Wiltshire and enjoy the rest of the week, too. What happened on your visit to London?
Trying to sort through our books to give some away -it is hard to do, isn't it? I mean which to keep, which to give away.
Masses of bags full to overflowing with ivy cuttings waiting for the green recycling on Tuesday - they might need more than one lorry(?) or I might have to wait another week. Now for the fence repair man (he went up a ladder at home in his flip-flops and fell off breaking his arm!) so I must wait.
Off to help with a fund raising strawberry tea for children in Africa this afternoon. It is a lovely morning so do hope it continues for the rest of the day.
Evelyn, sending all good wishes for you and Ron and well done - thanks to Ginny and Persephone for help with our ever mysterious computers.
~~~~~~~to everyone
Love, R<3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
My OH's one is too viscious and disallows way too much. It is so annoying. I have to enforce the law on his computer.
When I first got my laptop BIng was the search engine/page that it defaulted to so I just changed it. It is still hanging around but not anywhere annoying, probably in a cupboard somewhere.
The laptop also came with it's own HP advisor docking thing at the top of my screen... I would close it at the start of each session and back it would come... so I told it to butt out completely and removed it by unpinning it from my task bar.
I see on the page Cyns has been to on google that 245 people have this problem.. 245 too many I would say... start a support group Evelyn.
It is a wonder my computer runs properly at all... by the time I have added this and taken away that etc... I have banned all adverts as well as I can't abide these ones that move and jump about and distract me.
If you have just recently got this Evelyn someone must've downloaded it onto your PC... so to get completely rid of it remove download and do an uninstall ... sometimes when you delete or remove you only get rid of the short cut.
Some apps say things like remind me in 20 mins etc to which I tell them I will let them know. You have to let them know it's your PC and you will run it not the other way round.
Probably not helpful Cyns .... I see you rubbing your head now wishing you hadn't asked. ;-)
Hello Evelyn, this is when we really need Frank isn't it???
I have had a google and came up with the following comments I found - don't know if they will be helpful or not!
I quote.....****** APPS4U seems to be part of the Vuze Community toolbar, because when I removed that, poof! No APPS4U!
and........
Here's a really easy way to dump that annoying toolbar (and the darned Bing search which became my default search engine).
Go to Firefox preferences, click on General then click add ons, then click manage add ons. Go through the list of add ons then simply delete the Vuze Toolbar.
Restart Firefox and your done!!
******* end of quote.
Seems like it's something to do with add-ons.
Sorry I can't be more help.....hopefully, someone else will really rescue you.
~~~~~~~~~ to Robert :-D

Hello Everyone, Ron had chemo again yesterday, he was weighed prior to that and has gained another 2lbs so that is very pleasing, today he is a bit under the weather but that is quite usual, he is having a nap in front of the TV at the moment. PLEASE before I pull my hair out can anyone help me?? Stupid notices from Apps 4 U keep popping up on my screen and I dont know how to stop them , it stops me being able to do any work on my laptop and I am getting very annoyed by it, if someone can help I would be VERY pleased. Love to all Evelyn XX

ooooooh! Have I missed something? Is it your birthday Anne? If so, have a very, very, happy day. Enjoy your weekend in Wiltshire - there are some beautiful places in that county. My parents lived in Chippenham for a while and they used to take us out to some very olde worlde sites.
Fridays are days when I keep housework to a minimum and we go out to lunch......so it's a sort of 'play' day. Have given up on the tennis though ;-)
Hope Arthur's drains and patio are progressing well. As for Hot Matches, I rarely look at them now. I think the best way of checking who else has your relatives in their tree is to put their details into the Search Trees box.
Having got my tree to the size I want it - not too large - I think my next stage is to 'flesh' it out a bit by checking addresses and occupations and adding interesting family hearsay to it.
I have also thought of 'google-earthing' the addresses to see if they still exist and I may continue to google the churches where life events happened and print off a copy for my files.
I have even been to old book fairs where they sell postcards from yesteryear and rummaged through the areas I am interested in. Great fun.
Ah well, off to play!
Hope you are all well - with special love to Evelyn - I do miss Ven.Robert and Frank though.......sigh. Cx <3

Morning all - 7 am today - its daylight - was beginning to think I only went to work when it was dark
Fantastic news about Sylvia
Happy birthday to your sister in law Sue
Wonderful news on the hot match front Arthur - when they work its great - I am a bit like Sue i seem to get loads of them now.
Sue I am surprised the Shark is still there - can't they lure it out to see or something - If they were that desperate for food surely there would be more of them.
Cynthia - what have I told you about the tennis lessons - keep your eye on the ball not the instructor - no wonder they end up on the roof.
Walked in to the office this morning & they have decorated my desk - so many balloons i can only just about see the screen - it does smell quite rubbbery around here. I also seem to have loads of birthday confetti sprinkled about & loads have gone inside the keyboard - hope i don't an electric shock with all this tin foil in there. They have made a sort of montage of pictures of John Barrowman & stuck those all around the desk - just because I said I loved watching "Torchwood " and made a comment the other day that he must work out a lot as he had a very fit body.
Have to admit it gave me a giggle - but I have been a little sneaky & replaced a couple of pictures with the ones I do quite fancy "David James Elliott from Jag & Yannik Bisson from the Sue Thomas series" Looking at the pictures well they are all the dark haired brooding variety. Its quite nice though.
Well grumpy is still grumpy - no idea why - he doesn't think he is - said this morning that I hope he cheers up a bit before we go away tomorrow. Beginning to wonder what I booked us out for a couple of nights.
Waves & Hugs to Reece & Evelyn ((((((~~~~~~~~~~~~))))))
Josie - any news on the jobs front?
Well better get some work done as i need to leave it all tidy for Monday when he is back & i am off - otherwise he will think I have been slacking the last two weeks.
May not pop in for the next two or three days as we are in Wiltshire - Will think of you all tomorrow when I have my glass of wine with dinner.
Take care all

Good news again! Sylvia is now home and resting. I think she will be back with us as soon as she can. :-D :-D
It must be national 'Look after your house' day Arthur. My neighbour had a chimney problem so there have been men on the roof all morning - we had arranged for them to check ours too!.
Whilst they were up there, they cleaned the gutters out for us........my word.....it's amazing what they got out......it must have been like a miniature forest growing in our gutters......yuk!
They also found three tennis balls......memo to self.....do not hit tennis balls so high!
Worrying about that shark Sue.......I would hope the authorities would ban anyone from going into the water until it moves away - from lack of food. Very unpleasant..........gone all shivery at the thought.
Had better go and finish the ironing I suppose.
Love to all <3

Hi Everyone
I can't believe how quick the weekend has come around again,had a very busy day today as we have visitors for the weekend so extra shopping and a bit of a rush around the house to get ready.
It was a lovely sunny day today but I was to busy to take advantage of it .
Dinner is all done and out of the way so I can watch the footy show tonight,as you can guess I love my sport...that is one thing that the OH and I do have we both love Cricket and Football,I suppose it all helps to keep a happy house.
Cynthia any more news about Sylvia,I do hope she is Ok.
Arthur the hot matches can be very good at times but I get to many now and can't be bothered checking all of them. Nice to see you popping in ,another member to our little thread,we have all become very good friend like Anne I really look forward to out little chats .
We had a young man taken by a five mt white pointer Shark two weeks ago and it looks like that same Shark is hanging around the bay and has been sighted twice in the last two days . This is a holiday destination in the School holidays and it gets very busy in Summer and this is very bad for the tourists it will scare them all away . I think they should kill myself as it is coming back for food ,I won't be going in the water thats for sure and I have already told the Granchildren to not go in the water either.
Oh 's sister is coming over tonight it is her birthday so we are getting together for a glass of wine .
Try to get back later Suex <3 <3 <3

Interesting day yesterday Blocked drains for second time this year - must take more prunes.
One of my Hot Matches replied and we do have a connection through my father's mother's family. will be good to confirm all my research to date.
Great news about Sylvia. I have known three friends die of breast cancer and my mother's sister died in the sixties when chances of survival were very poor.
My father and his father died of cancer, so hoping that there is not a genetic link. The cancers were different.
Today I have the builders here and a new patio is taking shape. Glorious sunshine - hope it lasts.

Morning all - 5am again - last one for a week or so - much to OH relief
Wonderful news about Sylvia & letting her go home so quick too (((((~~~~~~~~))))))) <3 <3 <3
Sue i agree I am sure they have found something - just don't want to shout too loudly & testing it out - but how many poor little animals is it going to take. I think they should test this sort of thing out on the lifers/terrorists in prison & rid the tax payer of the burden of having to keep them.
It would put their lives to good use in the end - it wouldn't condone what they did but it would go a long way & innocent little lives would not be lost. It also means that things would actually be tested & tried out on humans & they would endure some suffereing too.
End of soap box rant - :-P :-P :-P :-P :-P
Really nice day - 3 hours of sorting out work & then off to London for the day - I have been invided to the Square meal event exhibition - lots of walking around - & hopefully trying out all sorts of different food & drink as well & we get a free lunch. Also managed to get a free taxi from the office to the station.
Well tons to do in a short time.
Will be back on here tomorrow all being well.
Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
