The site isn't too bad for me at the moment but I still get the occasional error message. Sometimes I have to 'refresh' the page to get things moving again. There are lots of complaints threads on here and on FB re the problems. Makes you wonder about how competent 'The team' really are doesn't it?
Don't like the sound of those sharks Sue. Hope someone gets it sorted soon. Are you anywhere near the Queen is going??
We've just had a visitor who arrived to tell us of the arrival of a new baby....that was lovely news but, the funny part was......he brought his 12 month old dog with him. The dog's name was......
Frank! :-D
Hope 'our' Frank is doing okay. We still miss him on here don't we?
Hoping to have a nice quiet afternoon and evening. I never thought I could ever spend as much time in front of a computer as I do. I used to read, crotchet and do jigsaws.....that's mostly gone now........dear oh dear!
Love to all. Cx.

Hi Everyone
Arthur I am having the same trouble ,I kept getting the error page . It seems to settle for a while then it is back again.
I do hope they fix it soon it is really doing my head in at times, everytime they mess with it it goes haywire again ...why don't they just leave it be .
Funny weather here again overcast and light seas and another person taken by a shark off Perth's Rottnest Island,he was an American Tourist diving on his own .
He was attacked down deep and the rest of his body popped up beside his dive boat and his mates so you can imagine the shock for them trying to pull him into the boat.
Our premier has now issued a shoot to kill on the shark but we all think it has been left to late with so many White Pointer Sharks swimming around now you never know if you have the right one.
I for one do not want any of my family in the water, that is 5 Shark deaths now over the last 14 months in WA alone.
Australia is a beautiful country but it has so many dangerous things that can kill a person you have to be very careful.
Evelyn sorry nothing seems to b coming up in your thread of late and I hope Ron is feeling better. It makes you wonder what is missing with Diane ...with her very distinctve name you would think she would be easy to find ,if she wanted to be that is .
I am out to the garden now ,be back later.
Have a good day everyone . Suex :-D :-D :-D <3
Edit Sally thankyou for your interset ...I have sent a message to the Grimsby Library and they are getting back to me .Suex <3

I agree with Cynthia about the problems with the site.
Nearly every time I attempt to get the site - I get an error message.
Nearly every time I get to the site, there is an error message when I try to get this thread.

This site has been all to pot for over 24 hours. There are so many threads about the problems both on here and on Facebook. It's a darned nuisance when you can't communicate with friends on here.
Anyway, off to pick up granddaughter for a couple of hours shoppng. More time to chat later......

I have been absent for the past few days as my broadband speed dropped to an unacceptable level. Asked BT to investigate and whatever they did to resolve the problem - it didn't!! No internet connection whatsoever. This happened on Thursday and they will investigate thoroughly on Tuesday!!
My neighbour allowed me to access his connection and the speed is terrific. Could do with out TV - box replaced but the new one is operating intermittently and cannot be relied upon to record programmes whilst I am out. Managed to see my team win on Thursday, although missed 7 minutes as the box froze during half time and needed resetting. Awaiting thee engineer who is promised to visit sometime today - very restrictive having to wait in possibly all day, especially when the weather is so good.
My family investigations hve not revealed any Ag labs. My direct line were barge buildres from 1750 through to the late 1800s. Also silk weavers based in Sudbury, Suffolk. There is plenty written on the silk weving industry in Sudbury, but have not found any on the barge building.

Good morning all - sorry I have been a bit neglectful but most of you know that I am on and off Evelyn's thread in the hoping of keeping it up to date! My word, that Diane was a one!!
We have just embarked on a new Scottish search and could do with Frank for some advice.........sigh........:-(
Hello Sally, I love audio books and have a large collection of them. I use them when I am ironing. It's very enjoyable to zoom away with the iron whilst listening to a good old murder!
Ag labs????? Sick of them I am. And lace makers. And chairmakers. I would love someone with an interesting occupation to crop up. Quite a lot of military on one side but nothing really int-er-est-ing. :-D
Sue.......re Doc Martin......I won't tell you in case it comes back out there but it is enjoyable... :-D
This site has been having problems for quite a while now. Lots of complaints on the Suggestions board and also there were quite a few on FB. They always seem to be tinkering with things.
Anne....hope you get more than a glimmer of light at the end of that dark tunnel.........how about a searchlight???? :-D :-D
Arthur......I wouldn't miss the tv terribly much - except that it keeps my OH happy! I play around on the computer more than I watch telly. You say you live near Brands Hatch.......I am sure I had a gt. aunt who lived near there too......the words 'Kit's Cotty' come to mind. Does that ring any bells?
Well, it's Friday and I don't do that much on a Friday usually......may be able to get some 'bitty' things done.....you know the sort.......the things you keep putting off......
Love to all. Cx.

Hi all xxx
I think our lovely "Indian Summer" type of weather is coming to an end. It rained hard on Wednesday night, and rain is forecast for Friday.
Sue .............. she isn't making me work hard, but she is certainly working hard massaging all around where the scar is ................. and that can make me sore by the time the 30 minutes is over!!
However, I am getting more mobility back as she loosens up the scar tissue.
so I guess it is worth it!
Nice to see you Sally.
I was born in Lancashire, but left the UK in 1967, and have lived in canada since 1968.
Josie ...... I'd love some more interesting ancestors than Ag Labs and Lace Makers :-D
OH allegedly has someone who was murdered on his way home from Kendal Market after selling a cow there ..... allegedy for the money.
Problem is ......... I can't find anyone who has died prematurely, and not in his own bed!

Hi Everyone
Sally I see you live in Lincolnshire,I am trying to find the address of my OH's father . I know before they left the uk in 1926 they lived in a house called Kennor in Healing Linc that is all I know . Can you get into any Electoral rolls for that area. Names of Arthur French and Nellie French, all I need is an address for that family in 1926 . Thought I might try Arthur's trick.
Sally I also type One handed so don't excuse your self there are a lot of us our age all do the same don't we girls.
I get my cataract's done in February ,right eye Feb 20th left eye Mar 19th....I can't wait ,it will be the first time since I was two that I have not worn Glasses,I am now 61 so you can see how much money I have spent on Specks.
Sylvia I hope you are doing well we are all thinking of you ,I hope your physio is not making you work to hard.
I am off for a ride on my bike ,nice and sunny today and rain tomorrow.

Morningall 6am again - very dark outside & cold this morning - no frost yet in the southern part of the country.
Welcome Sally - please join us - you don't have to be a bit barmy to join us - but if you are it helps :-P ;-)
We are a happy little group on the whole - we do have our moments but we are all there for each other when needed & we all care deeply about each other.
We even send out search parties when someone goes AWOL. We are better than search & rescue on the TV.
Bookworm sounds an interesting game - you must tell us about it some time when you are up to the typing.
Been so busy reading Evelyn's thread narly forgot to log in the phones - we should make it into a novel - if we ever get tot the end of it.
Happily munching my way through a large bag of popcorn (my breakfast didn't fancy anything else when I got up at 4 this morning) didn't fancy dinner last night either.
Had my flu jab last thusday - my arm has just stopped aching - i think she must have found an extra sensitive muscle.
Not a lot happening here - still busy - still looking for overtime hours - still looking for a fairy godmother/father to wave a magic wand over us or a wishing fairy - not even a tenner on the lotto at the weekend. keep hoping something will turn up - a flickering of light at the end of the tunnel etc etc. deep sigh
Josie - sounds an interesting tree - wonder how he still kept the house if he went bankrupt - very strange. I know on my OGH tree two of his ancestors sailed over to NZ to try their luck & set up a Fruit tree nursery - which was very profitable as they employed the local maori's 7 gave them a share of the profits if they worked hard - which they did.
OH would love to visit NZ & pop over to see if there is any remains left of the original Nursery. I think its a long way from where you live - its a place called Wanganui . Big dream of his to visit some day.
Well i had better get some work done while its quiet - in theory i have tomorrow off - but offered 3 hours OT first thing - so will pop in the office & then meet up with OH - its his Babies first MOT - he is worried about how it will go - Bit like a childs first day at school.
Working for a few hours Saturday & Sunday & monday off - so hope to pop in some time - also hope to get a bit of family tree work done - its taken a bit of a back seat at the moment .
Well see you all later - Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi Everyone
Anne I am glad I was not the only one then I did get in touch with Genes but they said the site was fine so I have been having a good clean out today with CCclean and defragging that seems to have made a dif.
I also deleted my Genes form my Favorites and re added it again ,it is working good at the moment I hope it stays that way.
I keep popping into Evelyns thread but I don't seem to help much it looks like everyone has covered all areas to me ,I was wondering maybe Diane was fond of Leslie as that was her birth surname and not Macleod.
Is any of Dianes brothers or sister still alive I wonder.
Josie you can always post on here if you have a question you want answered ,,Arthur has done well from FBG,I am sure no one would mind .
I am of to start Dinner ,very relieved I can now get back on this site ....started to worry for a while there.
Overcast today and cool, enjoying it before the hot weather gets here.
Love to everyone. <3 <3 <3

Hi everyone, Have got all inspired again and have started another bout of researching my Family Tree. It Might have had something to do with the fact that I was able to get into the 1901 Census for free for 3 days on Ancestry and thought I would check out all my Lancashire Ancestors. I ran out of time and so posted on the To Find Board and Sylvia and Jax kindly helped me out, not only giving me the 1901Census record but the 1911 one plus some other info about one of my 2 x great aunts Families.
One of the Son's of this family was jailed in the early 1900's for his part in de- frauding A Building Society, so I tried' Googling' to see If I could find out more about the Scandal and instead of finding more on this Skeleton have now discovered that his Father was in Wormwood Scrubs in 1881. A cotton Manufacturer, he had knowingly been in receipt of stolen Goods and got a 5 year sentence. I then discovered that 10 years later his businesses where declared Bankrupt. However by 1911 he was still a Cotton Mill owner and living in a palatial 11 room house with 2 servants and the Son who's skeleton I was trying to find out about and who was the manager of his Father's business.
Great family I have! on one side I have a Poor convict sent to Australia for stealing a Turkey and on the other side Rich Mill owners involved in Fraud. :-(
Though I suppose it's a lot more interesting having ancestors who made the 'Papers' than having a lot of 'Ag Labs' in my tree.
Well finnished my Cup of tea, must go and make OH some Dinner. Catch you all later Josie :-) :-) :-) <3 <3 <3

Morning all - 6am very dark & a chill in the air
Managed to get 3 days early morning OT this week - it will help keep the wolf from the door in November - OH seems a bit happier as he seems to be busy this week - but he has two tests & 1 passed yesterday 1st time - surprise for both of them. So thats 2 lessons a week he has lost. £40 in money - not a lot but every little helps - fingers crossed he will get a new pupil to replace her.
Still really busy here - which is good considering the recession - which only seems to be hitting us in the middle - not those at the top of the tree - they are still spending - which keeps me in a job.
Well better go & do some work
Sue I had problems yesterday with GR too - added a post yesterday lunchtime - its not on here - so guess it vanished. Who knows what is going wrong witht eh internet at the moment - its very slow wherever you are.
Take care all - will pop by later ;-) <3 <3 <3 ;-)

I went to my opthomoligest today he told me my Glucoma is now in the rang of presure it is supposed to be in so that is OK and next Feb he is doing my cateracts so I sjpuld be able to throw away ny Glasses that I have worm since I was 2 yrs old ....fantastic news for me as I am now 61. What I would have given to not wear them when I was a young girl.
I used to love Doc Martin but I don't watch it anymore ...did he marry the girl who had his baby,I think we are all behind here in OZ.
We seem to be back to Winter after Perth had 35c on Sunday, rain tomorrow .

Good evening one and all.... :-D
Sounds like you had a good time Sue and it's good that your dad is so well.
Anne, I guess you have had fun at the archives..........hopefully something for Evelyn may turn up soon.
Arthur, Fans has been away for the weekend, not sure when she is back. Hopefully either she or Sylvia will be able to answer your query.
OH had his flu injection today. We saw an ambulance arrive outside the doctor's and then found out it was the nurse's previous patient to OH!! Seems he was okay when he went in but I don't know what went wrong !
Just going to settle down to watch Only Connect and then Doc Martin. Good Monday night viewing... :-D
Take care and love to all. Cx

Tabitha I live in earshot of Brandshatch.
SKY Box failed totally on Saturday so could not watch the rugby etc. Waiting for engineer to visit, but in the meantime doing Family History - have killed off quite a few today! Have a will from 1908 where my great grandmother was a beneficiary- really useful for finding the married names of female ancestors.
