Brrrrrrrrrrrrrr..............it's perishing cold in the North West today! We have got freezing rain more than snow and it's horrible. yuk and double yuk. If anyone wants this weather - they can have it with pleasure.
When I see about the poor people who have frozen to death in the streets in Poland, it makes me even more grateful for my little house.
I'm definitely looking forward to Spring Anne, it's my favourite season - wish it could be Spring all year, but that would really throw nature out of rhythm.
I love the Kindle I bought for my OH!!! I take it to bed every night and am, at present, reading a Dick Francis novel which is new to me. As Josie said, very light to hold so easy on the old joints :-D
The comments about the slowness of this site go on and on......one day it's fine and the next it's rubbish. I wonder if they will ever get it sorted. I suppose it may be the sheer number of members they are supposed to have which causes some of the problems.
My youngest child is 39 tomorrow.........sigh.......where have the years gone? His children think he is really old!!! :-D :-D
Hoping Evelyn, Reece and Arthur are all bearing up..........keep warm folks. Lots of love. Cx. <3

Greetings from the very sunny and very cold south east coast of the UK - no white stuff yet - but we have been promised some for late afternoon or early evening today. According tot he met office we are going to have around 4 inches worth :-P :-P :-P
If it stays this cold then it will all turn to ice - I will then be able to slide down all the hills (on my rear of course) to work - I will have to sleep at work as will not be able to climb the steep hills back home due to the slippery surface - so much fun :-P :-P :-P I think not
Still no overtime :-( which is why I am on here at this time of day - the bills still mount up :-( not a lot of fun - feeling very gloomy :-( :-( :-( Hence the lack of visits as I do not want to spead this gloom on here :-( :-( :-(
Nice to see everyone back - Josie hope things are looking up for you
Thinking of Evelyn & Reece - hope you are both keeping well <3 <3 <3 <3
Hope everyone is well and looking forward to Spring
Take care all :-) <3 :-) <3 :-) <3

Hi Everyone
I am so sorry I have been missing for a few days but we have had some much needed cool weather and we have even had rain.
A cyclone ran out of puff and came down the West Coast bringing rain that was great for the gardens ,they have been so dry with all the heat we have had over the last two weeks.
Josie I agree with you I think the Genes site takes longer to load that any other site I go into ....very frustrating. I did not have time to judge the new tree as it was not there long enough it appears to be gone for the while ,I do wish they would stop fixing things that are not broken.
My Uncle in Glouster had some Snow the other night so is it all over the uK or just the lower South West.
Sally where are you in the UK ?
Cynthia I did get my ironing done ....finally.
I will also look into this Kindle thingy.
Anne I hope you and your family are all well
Robert good to see you back here again and well I hope.
I am offnow to get some dinner on. Suex <3

Hi Everyone, Am finding getting here to this thread very frustrating, my computer starts faster [and it is slow] than loading the sign in page, then equally as long to get to my homepage I can go and make a cup of tea in the time it takes for the message board to load, I then I finnaly get here and takes for ever to try and get the pages to scroll, so unless I plan to come to this site, I can no longer just pop in :-|
Do not get me started on the new tree format this is the second time they have done this since I joined back in 2004. I know how it works as it very similar to my trees on the 'my Heritage' Site,
But it is a pain when it comes to updating, as I have been doing a lot of over the last couple of weeks. with so much extra scrolling around needed.
Well that was my grizzle for the day :-P
Anyway hope everyone is keeping well, would gladly swap your Lovely White Stuff Sally for my gale force winds Summer here not much Fun :-( Nice and warm 20-23cel and some Sunshine but mainly cloudy and windy with gusts up to 120 kilometres per hour. Does not make for good Beach days or outdoor activities.
I see you are asking about a Kindle Reader Susan. I checked out one at my local electronic Retailer and will definatly buying myself one when I eventually find a Job and the money tree flowers.
The biggest plus is the weight, I find holding a 500 page Paperback book very hard on my wrist. The kindle is very lightweight. You can also change the Font size to allow for much easier reading.
There is a range of different models and you can buy accessories such as carry cases for them. And a course a vast range of E books to use with them including ' Geneology Books'
you can buy your Kindle and books online from Amazon through my website [ excuse the little add here]
Will trek back to see you all soon Josie

That was a quick visit :-S :-D
Just watching the news about the riot at the football match in Egypt......unbelievable! Makes you wonder if some of it was planned.... :-S
Very cold this week but at least we are nice and cosy in our little nest.
I don't mind ironing at all Sue.......but you're just a bit far away for me to help out.... :-D
Hope our menfolk are keeping well in this chilly weather..........I think Robert has had his little shell insulated so he should be okay.
I wonder if Evelyn is feeling up to joining us again soon?? It would be lovely if she could. There has still been some work going on behind the scenes re her mother - but it's brickwall after brickwall....... :-(
Going to make my way upstairs now.......Going to read Dick Francis on the Kindle... :-D :-D
Love <3 to all <3 Cx <3

Hi Everyone
Sylvia I am glad it is warming up for you .....we are sick of the heat already and Summer has not been with us very long.
Talking to my Uncle last night on Skype in the Uk and he was showing me Snow falling in his back yard. At least it made me feel cooler just looking at it .........37c for today and 33c for tomorrow with a small promise of a few showers on wed night but with those temps it only makes it very humid......still it would be nice for the gardens.
Having a day at home today with lots of windows to clean and yes that dreaded Ironing, trying to syke myself up to do it .
Going to get a whooping cough booster tomorrow as they say that the ones we had when we were kids may have worm off and with a new baby coming soon we don't want to take any chances.
Whooping cough is on the rise here with all the boat people arriving from Afghanistan and the Muslim countries we are seeing a return of a lot of the childhood diseases that were long considered gone for good.
Well I had better get on with the housework.
Talk again soon Suex <3

Hi Sue........not sure about the mini laptop thing because it will have its limitations and would be quite fiddly to do everyday things I think. The print is small but can be enlarged.
As you are getting hot days, our days are getting colder. Just hope it doesn't snow.........naughty word again!
I'm not doing my voluntary work tomorrow because the hospital has an infection and no visitors are allowed. I will stay away because I don't want to bring anything back to my OH.
It must be very frustrating for the patients who are feeling reasonably well and for the visitors who may have travelled a fair distance. Hope it clears up soon.
Had a late night last night so must get some beauty sleep.
Love to all.......Cx

Hi Everyone
Cynthia that sounds quite handy to have ,I may look into one of those. Can it be used as a mini laptop is that correct.
Cooled down here late yesterday afternoon thank the Lord it got to 42.4c but by 6pm it was 27c....we had a good nights sleep last night and we only have 30c today and tomorrow then it all warms up again for another lot of hot days. I dread to think what my electricity bill is going to be this time as we have had the Air Conditioner on a lot.
We are having a lazy day today ....OH is back to work tomorrow pore thing.
Check in tonight Love to everyone.

It's okay Anne, I wouldn't have minded if you had answered Sue's query. :-D
Sue, a Kindle in an electronic book. It measures about 6" x 4" , has a screen and is very light to handle. You can download books of your choice onto it from the Amazon website.
I have the cheaper version which means that, although I can take it anywhere and read from it, I have to be at home to download etc. The more expensive version means you can take it and use it anywhere.
Lots of people find them very useful to take on holiday etc....it saves them packing loads of holiday books. :-D
Hope that helps!
A beautiul day here today - chilly but bright.
Going to pick up daughter soon.
Take care and love to all. Cx. <3

I could reply about the Kindle - but think Cynthia would be much better at it.
I have contemplated one - but honestly not sure if I prefer that or the paper variety - I know they are smaller & lighter to carry around - but not sure if i want to sit looking at a screen for that long.
Lovely sunny day today - we had hailstones yeaterday - massive great things - it was even on the local news
Well off for a potter around - visit to the outlaws tomorrow - another grilling and Spanish inquisition - never mind
Take care all

Hi Everyone
Cynthia....pardon my ignorance but what is a Kindle ?
Very hot here 41c today 42 tomorrow ,the OH is at work today but I don't know how long he will be gone ,I will give him a few hours and I bet he will be home again.
MIL is doing fine ,we are keeping an eye on her in this heat as well ..over here people can die from it usually the elderly that is .
I do have the Cricket to watch as I do my housework but I have decided there will def be NO ironing done this week until it cools down.
My tree has 809 people in it a the last look,I am hoping for it to grow but only with the correct people in it.
I had better get some housework done .
Suex :-D <3

My goodness! Anyone would think this was a Genealogy site :-D :-D
Some very good points have been raised which is helpful to the rest of us.
Sometimes I think people are just into this hobby to see how many people they can fit into their tree.....as though there was a prize for the biggest tree!
Can't see the point myself :-S
I only have about 1,350 on mine and I am quite happy with that. Anymore would be further and further removed.
I was supposed to take my friend out today but I have a cold and didn't think it fair to inflict it on her. She was very disappointed but understood my reasoning.
Hope your MIL is still recovering Sue. Falls are nasty anytime but at that age they can be really dangerous.
I cleaned the inside of our car yesterday. Oh my word! I didn't realise just how dirty it was...... :-S I should be ashamed of myself....tuts.
I've also been playing around with the Kindle my OH got for Christmas! I'm quite enjoying it and found that I can even get google on it........
......trouble is, I take it to bed with me and keep on with it till quite late.
I need beauty sleep..........
Hope all the folk on here are keeping well. Love. Cx.
