Hi Josie.......I agree that the men are okay in L of A but it really doesn't grab me as a film. Sorry ....... :-(
Good job you made that phone call - it's frightening to think of how many scams are knocking about.
Sounds like Anne has caught whatever her OH had.......take care and don't go overdoing it.......... <3
We've just had the car serviced and it hit a snag. Apparently the engineers couldn't move the driver's seat and a new law came out in January stating that it must be moveable. :-S Anyway, they seemed to have fixed the problem thank heaven's.
I was carless for over a day and had two appointments to keep so my friendly neighbour came to my rescue and I was very grateful. :-D
Went to the hairdressers and, as well as having my hair done, I had a good old gossip.......very theraputic it was too! :-D
Thinking about Robert and all our friends. Love. Cx

Cynthia, Cynthia how could you not want to watch Laurence of Arabia?
It is a wonderful movie, the music alone is spectacular and as for Peter O'Toole and Omar Sharif .... what can I say absolute 'hunks'
Saw OH off for his last day at work this morning. The Sun is shinning outside but the temps have dropped now as we are in to Autumn. Trying to keep positive that our circumstances will improve.
Got an odd email this morning from someone I went to School with requesting money to help with a bone marrow operation for her cousin in Barcelona, it was very believable English unlike many scam emails,
but they slipped up in a couple of instances by using little words like 'to' in the wrong place. I phoned her and it would appear her Hotmail Account has been hacked, luckily she has been bombarded with phone calls this morning so hopefully no one has been sucked in by this con.
I had my Hotmail account hacked 2 years ago and used to send Spam Mail, and Hotmail shut my account down. Luckily I got my account back I now use a very strong pass word and recommend that you strengthen your Internet passwords for email accounts as more and more people are having their email hacked.
With Hotmail ,as well as numbers and letters you can use all of the varies Punctuation keys so use some of these at the beginning of your password along with numbers and letters mixed together these types of passwords are considered very strong and will keep your account safe.
Either it is a feast or a famine. Right now am experiencing a Feast as I received a raft of emails from the group I belong to researching my Husband's tree, with new revelations from Newspapers that have recently gone on line. At the same time have received messages from The My Heritage Site that hosts my small Dutch Family Tree.
Have now made contact with 2 first Cousins I last saw in 1968 when I visited Holland at age 12. As well as a distant cousin who has shared a massive amount of info, and if that is not enough someone on this site, who I have to get back to is enquiring into my Maternal Grandmother's side of the family.
So am busy scrambling in 'the Bushes :-D at the moment. Take care will catch you all later Josie :-) :-) :-) <3 <3 <3

HAPPY ST DAVID'S DAY
Sally - what a wonderful thought about the gathering together.
What a shame Cynthia - you need to find a little something closer to home - you do need to get out of the house - just for a few hours though. I am sure your husband enjoys a little time to himself as well once in a while.
I had to do that when i had my mum at home - just for a little YOU time.
As i keep being told - everything happens for a reason
I have a nasty feeling i now have the lurgy - very sniffy - used far too many tissues this morning - if I do have it - it will be first cold I have had in over 3 years - and i had a flu jab.
I have had several coughs - without the sniffles (which take ages to get rid of) - hopefully it won't be so bad tomorrow - as difficult to be off work as we are so short staffed.
Oh well at least OH is getting better - we do seem to have a bit of a strange thing with the home plumbing - OH was going to look at it tonight
My car is still at the garage - they are trying to find out where the water is leaking from - thankfully its all under warranty now - as they said it was all ok 2 weeks ago - we took it over last Friday & still they are unsure - they are all blaming each other - As long as we do not get charged its ok i suppose.
Well back to the grind stone - just taken a "Cold Pill" hope it does some good. Also picked up an orange Juice as well - keep plugging the vitamin C.
Take care all ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-) <3 <3 <3

Happy Leap Year whatever........ :-D
Everyone seems to have been really busy lately and it's good to see so many friends back with us.
Tuesdays and Wednesdays tend to be busy days for me because I pick up the grandchildren from school, bring them home and feed them. Then my son comes for a meal and they all go home again! You forget how much washing up it all causes when there's usually only two of you.
For the last 9 or so years I have been a volunteer at our local hospital and have loved it. Sadly, they are altering the parking arrangments to something which is not at all suitable for me and, also, my husband is getting a bit nervy when left on his own because of the 'freezing' you get with Parkinsons. I have decided that the best thing to do is to give up being a volunteer.......or, I suppose, the decision was made for me.
I feel sad about this but there isn't much I can do.........I'm sure I'll find something at home to keep me out of mischief :-D
OH has just be the dvd of Laurence of Arabia on..........arrrghhhh it's about 3 hours long I think :-S
I think I may do a bit of googling as Sylvia did just in case I can find answers to some annoying probs in my tree :-D
Take care all......Love... Cx <3

Hi Everyone
Doing this with magnifying glass still but I am slowly getting better.
Sandy feeling going now just the vision as I will still need reading glasses to go on computer. Enough of me . Robert I am so sorry to hear about your wife,I hope she will make a speedy recovery ,my thoughts are with you both.
Reece it is lovely yo see you back again ,I cam only imagine what you must be going though after so many years in the same house,my love to you .
Sylvia the Doctor said I can also use an eye drop that lubricates the eye and it does help a lot ,vision is returning ,but a gain I still need my readers to work the computer and I can't get tested for them until I get the other eye done and it has healed.
I am missing you all very much and very frustrated at thr moment.
Roll on the next eye.
Thank You all for your kind words and to all my friends who are struggling at the moment my love to you.

Oh my goodness - so much news & I only looked in yesterday
Robert I am so sorry to hear your news - Please tell your wife I send her lots of healing wishes - we will all be thinking of you both. I agree with Sylvia - I sincerly hope they have caught it in its very early stage. We will miss you - Please pop in when you can & let us know how she is.
Josie - such a shock for you both - NZ sound like the UK where jobs & benefits are concerned - its no better here - except we still have an NHS service I think someone needs to sort this world out.
Thank you for all the kind thoughts - OH is a bit better - not to generalise but he is not an average man with "Man flu" if he takes to his bed then it has to be a strong dose of the flu - a normal head cold & like me we work through it.
Trouble is last time he had this nasty cough we had a lot of problems - he went to stand up & coughed & sneezed at the same time & pulled a muscle in his back. He was out of work for over a month - so he is worried it will go again.
Cynthia - what joy to find a new branch on your tree. My OH has found a few extra links and a few leaves - its so exciting.
Sally hows the new toy - is it behaving itself?
Sylvia - nice to have you back again - remembering back to my last op - my eye was very gritty for over a week - where as on the 2nd op it was fine from day one. All very strange.
Sue - Hope you are feeling better now.
Evelyn - hope you are ok
Well big discussion going on about travel packages and ideas - so I need to leave & join in - we still have loads of people booking very very expensive holidays - who said there is a recession.
Now ski season is nearly over we are booking summer holidays - and Christmas packages to far away lands.
Just doing a Christmas booking for 10 - 14 days in Bora Bora - first class flights - stopovers in singapore for shopping. Another one is 3 weeks in the Maldives - luxury water villas.
Must away to the land of make belive I work in.
Will pop back tomorrow
Sending healing thoughts to all on this thread.
Take care everyone <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi Everyone, Frustration at the shear slowness of loading pages on this Site as well as some major issues with my Computer have kept me away.
I am glad to hear you are having your Eyes done Susan it will certainly make life much easier for you, my Mother has the same problem but can not afford to have the operations, they do not do them in the Public Hospital System any more so most likely she will finish up going Blind.
Dear Robert I am so sorry to hear about your dear Wife. I Am at present grieving for a special friend who died aged 51 of Breast cancer a week ago, it was already inoperable when they discovered it 2 years ago, she decided not to have any Chemo, but try Diet instead and completely eliminated all forms of Sugar and ate certain foods. She went into remission for a period but then the Cancer spread.
So at the Moment am not the best, I have a nasty Head Cold, still no Job, but plenty of rejections and Friday is my OH'S last day at work, he has been made Redundant. Four more years till he retires and he will not get get any payout other than Holiday Pay. In the last week there have been announcements on the news of over 500 jobs being cut in the Public Sector in the next couple of weeks, not even counting the closures in the private sector, so Job Prospects are looking Bleak. And in their infinite wisdom the government has decided to make Benefit Changes and all single women and Widows over 50 on a benefit must actively seek work or have their benefits cut. I have been trying for 9 months and constantly being turned down because of my age so how they expect these women to find work is beyond me.
The only good news is that I have finnaly made contact with a couple of my Dutch Cousins through the 'My Heritage Site' I last saw them in 1968 when I was 12 and my Father took me to Holland, as his Father was dying, It was his one and only trip home after he emigrated in 1950 to New Zealand. With their help I hope to now be able to make some real progress on finding my Dutch Ancestors :-)
Have to go and make dinner now. Catch you all later Josie :-) :-) :-) <3 <3 <3

Hi all
Robert ...................
I am so very sorry to hear this. As you may remember, I was diagnosed with breast cancer for the second time last year, and had a second mastectomy in September. I'm now feeling fine.
I know how much work it will be for you ..... knowing what my OH had to do for me! Please take care of yourself as the weeks go by.
I send all good wishes to your wife, and hope that, like me, this one has been found early enough that she will not need chemo or radiotherapy, and that there is a good outcome. xxxx
Sue ................ I hope your eye is feeling better. I wonder if it should still be so uncomfortable. Would it be worth a quick phone call to the surgeon's office? Maybe a different eye drop would help.
Anne .......... so sorry to hear that OH's cold not only cut your weekend short, but is now "man flu" :-D Hope he gets better soon, and that you do not cacth it.
Reese ....... nice to hear from you. Thta is a huge decision you have made .......... but it is probably the right one for you, and for your family.
I dread the thought of moving out of this house .......... we've been in it for almost exactly 40 years (next month). I know what we have collected over those years, what is tucked away ...... and how difficult it will be to decide to get rid of items!
But please take care of yourself.
Sally .............. that sounds like a nice "toy" to have :-D :-D :-D
C ....... so you tree is still sprouting is it??? I'm finding new information on some of mine ...... using the old records etc. But google helped me on Saturday night
............. just before I went to bed, I googled one of OH's ancestors. Up came his name in an "e-book". Just had to look. It was the Parish Registers from the town where he lived and supposedly got married. I found his marriage ............ the purported bride and purported date were both correct. Yippee.
Of course, I ended up going to bed a leeeetle bit later than intended :-D
Hope that Josie is alright, and that we hear from Evelyn soon.

Oh Robert, so very sorry to hear that. I do hope that all goes well with your wife's treatment and I am sure that you will be a great support to her. Take care and do keep in touch as and when you are able. <3 <3 <3
Sue, it must be horrible to feel as though you have sand in your eyes......I hate getting any sort of eye irritation. Anyway, the discomfort will be worth the pleasure of having better sight won't it? :-S
Hope your OH soon recovers from his flu Anne...........they do need extra care when they're poorly for some reason.
Poor Reece......lovely to see you back but I certainly don't envy you the job of moving. I've aways hated moving house - not because of the hard work but because of all the emotional issues involved. Mind you, you will have the support of your family which will help a lot. Once you get settled in, you will probably wonder why you didn't do it earlier :-D
Sally........I don't have a single blade of grass to worry about.......bliss :-D
Have been quite busy what with one thing and another. Spent a lovely morning and lunch time with some old friends - so good to catch up on old times.
A new avenue has opened on my tree so I have been working on that along with another relative.........it certainly is complusive at times. ;-)
Take care and love to all.........Cx

Reece - lovely to see you back again - you have been missed.
In one way you must be so excited by the move - its such a big leap for you, after all those years in the same house. I wish you well in your packing - would offer to help - but I don't think i live close enough to you. I have some time off in May if you need us to come & join you for a day to help.
My M in L was very upset that she would miss her garden - she loves her balcony now and keeps changing the flowers & pots around - she use to have all fresh flowers - but after the first few gales ruined them she now has a mix of fresh & silk. They live right on the coast so get the wind off the sea.
Sue hows the vision now - have you got rid of the sandy feeling now.
Cynthia & Sylvia - both very quiet at the moment.
Sally thank you for letting me know about the new toy you have.
Still no overtime :-( :-( :-( :-( :-( so i have my weekends to myself at the moment - which is nice but lacking money & have more worries :-P :-P :-P
We should have been away at the SinL's this weekend - however we arrived on Friday - spent the day & night & OH came down with a horrendous attack of the flu around 1am - don't know where it came from.
He was feeling so ill we went home at 7am & he went in & straight to bed, only got up for a hour or so & still he can't sleep as he has an awful cough. Which means I am not really sleeping either. Three nights in a row now
So much for weekend plans
Oh well better pop off and get back to work.
Take care all <3 <3 <3 ;-) ;-) ;-)

Hello friends,
I am sorry for my long absence - and thank you all for the kind thoughts and good wishes expressed on Susan's thread.
I hope all is going well for you Susan and that your eye operations will be very successful. I send you all best wishes.
After spending half term week in Dorset with my family I feel so much better. I am now preparing to move to be nearer to them (just five minutes away) with an expected completion date in early October.
You can imagine how I feel about dismantling our home of well over fifty years and relocating to another very modern one without a garden (but two balconies)!
A family connection has been in touch with me for help with her ancestor, a bigamist! We have now reached the really hard part of finding out what happened after he was discharged from his one year prison sentence.
I searched around yesterday but could not find anything to go on but the records at the GRO at Kew might be the answer.
Has anyone had anything similar or have you any ideas, please. She tells me that she has been looking for many years, now.
Love to everyone.

Sue - stick in there - when it does clear you will be amazed -I think you are very brave having both done so quickly.
Sally what new toy does your OH have?
Well we should have been away all weekend - however OH thought he had a bad throat last night when we went to bed. Around 1am I woke & he was beathing badly & i needed a bathroom visit - he was awake when I got back & had a bad headache, sniffles etc etc - of course - no cold medicine at the SinL's - so i through some Paracetamol & Ibuprofen down him & an anti histamine - he driffed off quite quickly - unlike me who just laid listening to him for a while.
When we woke up at 6am he was better but just wanted to go home to his own bed - so we made a very hasty retreat & were back home just after 9am this morning - had to do a quick trip to local corner shop for a few items.
He is sitting huddled in a blanket snooring happily in front of the TV afer demolishing mushroom soup & 3 slices of bread and a glug of cough medicine.
Hopefully i won't get it now
We are both happy bunnies as we were going to lose F1 this year as SKY beat the BBC on the deal and it was going to be on the sky sport channel - we would have to pay more to watch it - I know the BBC said they would have a few highlights and I think 7 races - so OH was miserable :-( :-( :-( and we couldn't afford to get Sky Sports just for the season.
However just seen the ads for it & its going to be on the new SKY F1 channel & free to HD subscribers - thats US :-D :-D :-D :-) :-) :-) :-)
So OH cheered up a bit It will be interesting to see the difference.
I hadn't heard anything from or about Evelyn lately - we all miss her & Reece & we haven't heard from Josie for a while either <3 <3 <3 <3 love to all of missing ones.
Well onward & upward and get some tree work going as i have a free afternoon.
Take care all
