Disappointed at the response to my thread on Sarah Neave in Finding Ancestors. Normally the questions posed intrigue quite a number of people, but this time all the info provided is info I already have.
Could some one tell me where I can find Tony's Australian help thread - possibly it can help me with details of several branches where people emigrated to australia in the mid 1880s.
Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone
Thank You all for your kind words ..I had a wonderful day but I am always happy when I have my family around me.
Yes I did have Chinese last night...best ever takeaway.
I was a little disappointed with the response to my Thread on reporting to be honest. I thought more people cared about it disrupting the boards going by there comments on the boards over the last few days but only 65 looked at the site and 4 comments on it and two of them were mine.
I will nudge it up one more time then I will let it drift off the boards ...I just wanted whoever was responsible for doing it to see what kind of trouble they would be in if they kept it up. Also to let everyone know we can say ancestry and the like on the boards it is not against the rules ;-)
Better get dinner started or i will be in trouble myself :-D
Drop in later. suex <3 <3 <3

HAPPY BELATED BIRTHDAY SUE..... <3 <3 <3 <3
It sounds as though you have had my sort of day. Babysitting and then a Chinese. Sounds good to me. I love little babies - the 'littler' the better :-D
Sylvia? It sounds as though you are asking if anyone would like a drink in the previous post....... :-D :-D :-D
I agree that the RRing on threads gets out of control at times - maybe it makes the RR'er feel important... :-S
Hope the saga of the grass verge is now behind you Arthur and, like Reece, I would love to have heard the comments when they saw the photos. Bureauocracy can be very stupid at times.
I have two little step-grandchildren - one was 4 last week and the other was 3 yesterday. What a handful they are - but they are lovely boys. The family have just moved home but seem to have settled down really quickly.
I found life much easier after we retired and downsized. We had to dispose of all sorts of things which, although it was sad at the time, I now realise I don't miss them. Having less is, at times, easier than having too much - especially in the knick knack line.... :-D :-D
Take care all. Love. Cx <3

Hi Sue, and everyone
Belated Happy Birthday, Sue xxxx
Hope that you had a good day xxx
Ridiculous that Tony's thread should be removed.
There was some silly RR'ing of opening posts over the weekend ..................... I know of two, but others have said there were several others. Of the ones i know about, one was asking for a WW1 look-up on ancestry, and the other to see if anyone could any record after the 1851 for someone born in 1850.
Both were reinstated on Monday morning.
I think it is the same person who was doing it a couple of months ago .................. seems to happen over the weekend. Alcohol????
We're having lovely weather here.
Sunday was cloudy and much cooler .................... the high was 16C vs 26C the day before! It rained in the late evening and part of the night.
Monday was also cool ....... but the sun came out in the afternoon, and we've had sun ever since.
The temperatures are cooler than in previous weeks ........... reaching the low 20s rather than the high 20s.
AND, the nights are much cooler :-D

Happy Birthday Sue - many happy returns - enjoy your day with the baby & the Chinese.
Me personally I would love the Chinese - not so keen on the idea of looking after a baby - I prefer them older when you can take them out to play or visit places - babies hold no interest for me at all.
Use to work in a Nursery - we had up to 15 babies & I hated working in the under 1's area - I would always opt for the toddlers & older - the others always wanted the babies as they were less trouble - so I was happy most days. I like reading stories with little ones all around me asking questions.
Anyway back to work
Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi Reece
I did not realise Tony's site was deleted...so silly isn't it.
He was doing some good work ..I even had help from him and I live in OZ.. I live in WA so if I can help just ask only to happy to help
Not many response's to my thread on reporting threads really but I only wanted the members to see what Genes response was and maybe it may stop the reporting or maybe just slow it down ...it has got out of hand lately.
Having a nice day so far....Sun still shinning :-D
Thankyou for your good wishes and have a nice day yourself <3

Good morning Sue and everyone,
Sending all good wishes for a very Happy Birthday, Sue - do hope that you had a lovely day especially with a dear little great grand daughter and rounded off with a delicious Chinese meal.
I think your thread about the reporting of threads answers my question about TonyOz's "Australian Research Tips" disappearing from the boards. I have asked to have it re-instated and GR have agreed as Tony did not remove it. I have used it for my own research with great success (sorry, didn't mean to boast!). This week found a long lost great uncle who had gone from Camden to Fremantle but other cousins had him still in NSW - no wonder I couldn't find him there.
Let's hope your weather continues to improve - ours still sunny and suddenly cooler last night but the garden desperate for rain.
Arthur, you must have given a big sigh of relief when it was all done - wouldn't you love to hear the comments when the photo is passed around?
I've decided to let the removal people pack everything but before then I have to finish the sorting - what to keep - what to give away.
Must away for breakfast - love to everyone.

HI Everyone
I think Summer is finally here...very nice sunny day today and more of the same to come ...so the weather man tells us anyway.
It is my Birthday today so i suspect it will be Chinese tonight.
There has been a lot of reported Threads lately ...they seem to be mostly for saying the words Ancestry and find my past and sites like that but it is not against Genes rules to mention these sites.... so I don't know why it keeps happening ..it is very annoying .
I did make a new Thread on the subject on the Find Ancestors board with Genes response to my email to them just to clear it up once and for all.
Cynthia I am just a plain cook, taught by my Mum she was taught by her Mum and so on...the OH hates fancy stuff so I would not get away with it anyway.
I have my Grt Grandaughter with me at present...best birthday ever :-D
OOps! bottle time .
Catch you later

I informed the County Councillor who had been so helpful that all was now complete, and asked what was the next step.
He said he would pass on the photo I sent to the Highways department.
I have heard nothing since - I am taking it as "No news is good news".
Hope you can get in for Christmas, but you need time to settle in before it., so don't be too dismayed if it is the New year before your move. Brings back memoeries of when my parents move was halted the week before Christmas. They spent it with the house in packing cases and did not move until January 2nd and then had 5 days of snow so deep it was not possible to get to work.

Anne - I don't like cooking and am not that keen on cookery programmes either. I have seen the odd few but tend to like the 'offbeat' cooks such as the Two Fat Ladies and, nowadays, The Hairy Bikers. They do at least seem to make things fun.
Mind you, I DO like eating.... :-D
Oh Reece, that's such a shame and a set back for you. I do hope it can all be sorted soon so that you can put some roots down.
It sounds as though you had fun at the Olympics and your other treats.....and I can quite understand you shedding a few tears, but you will have some more lovely memories to look back on.
No grandchildren pick ups this week so a little more space to get some jobs done. I have a project I am working on on my desktop computer but it keeps going into 'slow-mode'.....it will be going through the window if it doesn't behave itself soon.... :-D
Had better go and tackle the rest of the ironing I suppose...........
Love to you all........ Cx <3

Hello again, Sorry, Arthur I didn't mean to ignore you. Just had a read about your problem - is all now resolved? Hard to believe isn't it the way some things turn out - the latest talk on "Planning laws" gives me a very cold shiver down my spine as to what could happen in some back gardens and, indeed, is apparently already happening in some areas.
Does anyone know what happened to TonyOz and his very helpful Australian Research Tips - Genes tell me that they have no trace of it. I've sent him a message and do hope all is well with him.
Best wishes for now.

Hello friends,
Yes, still here! Sorry about not posting - finding things a bit difficult.
Move pushed back to near Christmas now and happened to meet one of the Partners of the development last week while on a trip to Dorset and guess what? He said "I am truly embarrassed! Don't hold your breath about getting into your apartment for Christmas!" Sold our house in April! So feeling pretty down about it all.
However, had a lovely day at the Olympics with my family - grand daughters loved every minute and had a real "day to remember."
Last week they took me to the Bournemouth Air Show - it was wonderful to see the displays and I couldn't help shedding a few tears as P would have loved it. They also took me to Corfe Castle where distant relatives had a shop in 1890's - it is still there and still uses their original name.
Evelyn - I see kind people are still looking for Diane for you - one day, one day......
Susan - your weather - what is happening out there?
Sylvia - good luck with the BP - I have to taken medication for it too.
Cynthia I do hope you are feeling better after that fall - it is so easy I know and you think "How did that happen?"
Anne you do sound busy - enjoy this lovely weather - what a pity we can't store it up for January/February!
Josie - I hope all is well - I heard mention of a new cathedral for Christchurch this morning.
Robert - all best wishes to you and Mrs. Robert - I enjoyed watching the Edinburgh Tattoo last week on television.
Love and best wishes to all.

Sue - its easy - rise to the challenge - with Roots all you need to do is open the cd drive - put in the disc - close the drive - let it run - tell it which drive - in theory c: and its done
Then the fun starts as you need to configure the programme to your liking - I love that bit.
Me personally - and I know its a lot of work - but i would not gedcom - i would input from scratch - as you can config your tree how you want it. I decided to colour code my tree - so the 4 main branches a different colour and then input when i have a free few mins - sometimes its only a few people sometimes if I have a lot more time I get loads done. I find it very theraputic and fun - had the rootsmagic programme for years now & still find more & more things you can do with it.
I wish you many happy hours of inputting fun.
Cynthia - take more water with it - what are we going to do with you - agree with Sylvia - only you could fall over when already down on the ground.
I am glad you are ok & not too many bruises.
Sylvia hope the BP works out ok
Evelyn - lovely to see you back with us again
Wonder how all the missing team are
Well have a weekend to ourselves - no work (in the office)
This morning got up - stripped the bed - put the washing on - went shopping - came home - took one lot of washing out - put next lot in - put shopping away - hung out the bed clothes - back in - unload washing - hang that out - put on Saturday kitchen (oh out working this morning) start work on the tree - OH comes home - moans about cooking programme on tv - goes to change into his shorts as too hot - comes back down - I am on here - he then gets the computer on so he can continue adding his family to rootsmagic as it hasn't been updated for a couple of years - so he has loads to do. Italian GP quali on at 12 - so he will watch that while I cook lunch.
Fantastic day today - so lovely & warm - lots of sun but cloudy - no wind so not sure if the washing will dry that much today. It looks as though its going to be very hot today.
I love watching cookery programmes - some of the presenters are awful - but I do love watching them cook - as long as I dont have to do it - it all seems to go wrong then - probably because I never seem to have the patience to do all the fiddly bits.
Well this wont get any work done will it.
Take care all <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi Sue
We're having beautiful sunny days again ........ it got up to 25C in the shade in my back garden again. But the nice thing is that it is cool overnight, so it is good for sleeping
yes, it can be very frustrating when get the OH at home when you've not been used to it!!
I find mine keeps coming to check if I am OK, or to report on what he's just done ........ every 30 minutes or so :-| :-|
He often doesn't even phone once when he's out at the uni. So why does he think he has to keep checking on me when he's home?? :-S
I had to go to the Cardiac Unit of the university hospital yesterday (Wednesday) to have a 24 hr blood pressure monitor put on.
I had to go back this morning, and have the monitor taken off ........
............. and had to create a little bit because the receptionist was what OH calls pan-faced. No change of expression, looks or pretends to look at a file, then tells you to sit over there and someone will see you.
Only she's not even taken your name down!
Helps when one of the doctors thinks you are her next patient, then adds a little comment when she realises you are not, and you say "I'm only here for this to be taken off, but we've been waiting a long time, and OH has an appointment soon so we are short of time"
Straight to the room where they take off the monitors :-D :-D :-D
C .................. only you could fall over when down on your haunches!!!!
Glad to hear the bruising is not as bad as you feared.
You need a bath in Epsom Salts or maybe Arnica cream for the other aches :-D :-D :-D
take care everyone

Hi - I keep getting side tracked and don't seem to have a moment to myself these days......Sue, I sympathise - it must be very frustrating to have your routine altered after all those years.
Fell over yesterday - using the dustpan and brush!! I was crouched part way down, went to move forward and the sole of my shoe caught and I went pitching onto my face.......ouch....... Thought I would have a big bruise but it's not too bad. Have a bruised elbow and ankle and my shoulders and upper arms have felt stiff today. Otherwise....I am fine :-D :-D :-D
Went to see my friend today and helped her to do some more sorting out. The boot of my car was bulging at the seams when I left....... :-D
Picked up the grandchildren from school on Tuesday and my grandson was mortified to find that I had put yet another Shaun the Sheep into the car. He certainly didn't want any of his friends to see it....it's just not 'cool' when you're 13 years old!!
Our weather is all to pot! Everyone back at work, kids back at school and so............we get some lovely summer weather....... :-S
Keep well everyone........Cx <3

Hi Everyone
It has been indoors again for me today ...still raining and so cold as well.
Going shopping with my dau tomorrow ,we are off to the big smoke ,it is 50klm to
drive but we always make the day of it and have lunch out and shop until we drop
so to speak.
I have not done a lot on my tree lately but plan to start this week ,I still don't like the new tree on here so when I get the courage to transfer it all over to my new tree program I will be happy .
Anne I did get the Roots magic one but now I have to get the courage to transfer it all...cost me $80... I hope it is all worth it. I must admit I will be very glad when it is done but I may wait for my computer man to come and do it for me...I am such a coward ;-)
better get the dinner dishes done then I can relax.
Have a nice day everyone.
Nice to see you back Evelyn <3.

Hello everyone, yes here I am again fighting fit once more. This getting old business is not much fun, but I dont really fancy the alternative. Quite a change in the weather here in the island today, feels very wintery though at least its dry. I am stil tinkering with my I Pad, it is a very clever gadget, expensive but great fun, does lots of things, more than I will ever discover I am sure. Hope everyone is well Love Evelyn XX

HI Everyone
I can't get over our weather it has not stopped raining and it is so cold with it 15c today that is cold for us.
OH is getting used to being home but I am not,I don't go out as much as I used to ...I will have to get into some sort of routine or I will go nuts I think .
It is going to take me a while to sort myself out.
Not into harry Potter either Cynthia, give me Mid Summer Murders any day and Criminal Minds I love that show.
That is a good weight lose Cynthia what is your secret....I am waiting for Summer now to get out and walk that always seems to work for me.

I guess everyone has been busy - poor little thread :-(
Glad to see you have had some quiet time Anne.........something we all need now and then.
My OH gets probs with his neck too Sue - one day it's okay and the next it's giving him gyp!!
Went to see my health trainer this morning and it seems I have lost 12.5 lbs. in three months. That's fine by me as I didn't want a dramatic loss all at once......nice and steady does it.. :-D
Seems as though it's going to be a nice week ahead........belated summer perhaps?? Typical when everyone has had their hols and are back at work and the children are back at school........... :-S
Not really into Harry Potter films to be honest as I'm not that keen on fantasy stuff. I like nice, down-to-earth detective stuff to get to grips with..... :-D
Hope all our missing friends are okay and sending lots of <3 <3 <3
Love to all. Cx
