Hi Everyone
Frank ! many congratulations, what a wonedrfull time for your family.
I remember very well the birth of all our Five Grandchildren and it was a fabulous time for us,all the little things the kids come out with they were so funny. It is a shame they grow up.
Cynthia it was a very hard time for us but he is OK with it and he knows as soon as we can we will restart his apprentiship. It may do him good to get another job for a while so he can see how good he had it working with his Grandad sometimes they can take you for granted.
Madmeg I am sorry if this thread sticking is questionable to you or anyone else it is no ment to,I did not ask Genes to stick it that was there doing. I have not seen the thread mocking it ,that is a bit much.
O H!! What I would do for a stress free life.
I am off for a few wines with friends we have over so I had better get back to them.
Love to you all, from a very cold OZ Suex

Congratulations Frank and his O H on the birth of Nieve Mary, likewise to Nieve,s parents of course..Nieve you already have good taste, you chose Frank for a Grandad. The wind has died down somewhat today though I shall keep my spare tyres handy, may want to go bouncy with Cynthia later while Ron nods in front of the T V. I wonder if the news that another Travel Company has gone bust will make extra work for poor Anne, she seems snowed under already poor girl. I was glad to see the end of the football on T V now for my sins all we seem to have on is Golf, I must admit to liking the St Andrews course though, we have been there several times (not to play I must add ), in the main street at St Andrews there is a Pancake House,WOW the pancakes there were delicious, whenever we visited my son and daughter in law in Scotland they always took us for pancakes in St Andrews, such a treat. Must go now time to get ready for going out to lunch ( again ). Take care everyone Evelyn X X for Nieve

The "crew" arrive on Monday, so we are busy trying to get the room ready.
When J left after her marriage 11 years ago, she literally took everything in her room with her, except for a desk that had been built in place, and a shelf and drawer unit in the closet. So we started from scratch ....... we only do have 2 bedrooms in this house, but we decided to turn that one into a den/spare bedroom, with a hide-a-bed (do you call it a sofa bed?), thinking we would get more use of the space than if it remained a dedicated bedroom.
I was determined that the 3 drawer + 4 shelf unit would be left empty, so as to be available for anyone who came to visit.
Later we bought another little 3 drawer unit on sale from Ikea .... so there would be 6 empty drawers for visitors
Well, we all know what happens to empty drawers and shelves don't we???????????
We've had to find room elsewhere for the 3 boxes of books, and 2 boxes of other things, plus some of my clothes, that had slowly crept in there!!
J and MJ are here for a toal of 5 weeks, M here only for the first 3 weeks. ........ so they will need places to store things!
I'm not sure how often I will be able to pop in for the next 5 weeks or so ..... I'll do my best.
Meanwhile, please all take care of yourselves!

Hi Madmeg
The very first posting on this thread is advice on how to help us to help you.
If that is not what you are seeing, then you have your setting to show latest post first
The thread was deleted about 2 weeks ago ....... and apparently for no reason.
GR re-instated it ........ unheard of, yes? ........ and at the same time, they stickied it.
No-one who posts on here knows why it was stickied ......... we had been posting regularly on it to keep it near the top so people would see the advice.
Now I see that some people are unhappy, and there is even a thread mocking it
The sticking truly has nothing to do with Susan or anyone else posting on here .... except in the sense that several of us complained when it disappeared for the 4th time.

Scuse me, am I missing something. This thread has a pin stuck in it. Is it a sticky? In which case it need paring down and filling with vital information. What a job for somebody! Unless I have got the wrong end of the thread this is a breakthrough isn't it?

How wonderful Frank a new addition to your Family Tree, congratulations Granddad.
Hi everyone from the bleak winterry downunder however the weather seems to be improving slightly had a couple of sunny days and the temp managed to reach 12C only 6 more weeks till spring hope I can last that long, my poor old arthritic knees [says she who is only 53] have been giving me hell this winter.
It doesn't seem to matter how many Tips or guide lines we post on these Boards there is always someone who try's the patience of our dedicated researchers on here. I saw a thread with no replies on Records last night so read it in the hope I might be able to help. They were 'despratly' looking for long lost relatives, apart from 2 possible surnames and a year of birth 1963, no place names. I checked back today to find about 6 threads by this same person had been pulled up and quite a number of people had tried to assist.
I am feeling quite ecstatic at the moment, finnaly after being on Genes for 6 years I have at last found some living relatives on my Grandfather's side. I got lucky in the early years and connected with a very distant relative we share the same Great great Grandfather. and was able to access a family tree that went back to 1066. While that in it self is fantastic, More than any thing I wanted to find living relatives. My Grandfather's mother was a widow with 1 son when she married and had Grandad, she died 9 months later in childbirth to a stillborn. Great Grandad re- married again to a widow who had 6 children 2 who she had between the death of her husband and her marriage to Great Grandad [ a family mystery here] then on marriage they had a child together so Grandad had a collection of half and step siblings.
Just the other day I got a PM from the great granddaughter of one of the step siblings so got very excited because we in effect are blood relatives my great Grandad and her Great great grandmother were 1st cousins 3 times removed. I have a very screwed Family tree as you can see] I had only just replied back to her when I received another message this time enquiring about granddads half brother's daughter,
Am currently sitting on tender hooks as I look forward to hopefully making contact with cousins in England. After all these years. As my Grandad severed all ties with his family when he Emigrated to NZ IN 1923.
Dear Venerable Robert it was wonderful to see you popped out of your shell. Please come out again before Christmas.
My hands are starting to go numb with the cold here at the computer so am off to make a nice hot cuppa tea. Catch you all later Josie

Be careful out there Evelyn, those spare tyres can be dangerous if you've not grown into them.
Perhaps you could pin down our virtual Cynthia to see the best way to get about with them.......or maybe not, pins and spare tyres are probably not a good idea !
Just stick to the real 100% coiffeured Cynthia and you can't go wrong ;)
Is our virtual Cynthia in competition with the venerable Robert ?
Thankyou Cynthia for your good wishes but I'm just waiting for grandad to get on with his babysitting duties.........
P.S. I can't talk yet ;)
Nieve.

Oh well done Frank! Many congratulations to you and your family. Welcome to the world little Nieve. [you've got a very nice grandad Nieve, but don't tell him that I told you]
Evelyn, I have a lovely picture of us all bouncing along wearing spare tyres...what a sight indeed.
Sue, that must have been a dreadful decision for your to make about your grandson, but hopefully he will understand that it has not been easy for you.
Anne must be slaving away at her grindstone - it must be going down in size surely?
Been a busy couple of days for me. I had a visit from one of my God daughters yesterday. This was a surprise as she doesn't live locally any more but just wanted to keep in touch.
Have been to the hairdressers today so am virtually unrecognisable!! lol
Good night dear friends..........Love, Cx.

Hi all,
16th July 09.30 Nieve Mary 6lb 11oz.
Mary after my son-in-law's grandmother who is suffering badly from alzheimer's disease which makes this a rather bittersweet moment...........
Waters broke at 04.30, contractions started at 05.30 and baby arrived at 09.30. Shelling peas I think is the saying.....
Mother and daughter doing well in fact mother is neither up nor down and looking to get home tomorrow !!
We are of course absolutely delighted with our two grandaughters and I was even allowed a fish supper to celebrate..........no salt of course. ;)

Hi Everyone
Robert I am so glad to here from you, thought I may have upset you. Please don't stay in your shell for so long.
It has been a fairley traumatic couple of days for us ,we had to let our 3rd year apprentice go and to make it worse he is are own Grandson.
Work in the building industry is so quiet we don't have the work for him and he was struggling at Tech with the theory of wall and floor tiling,he was OK on the job but you don't get passed if you can't do the theory as well.
It has upset us a lot,we only hope he will find another job he likes,we are getting on ourselves and we have to think of that ,we were tied down a lot.
Enough about me Evelyn it is very nice to here from you ,you doing fine with staying intouch,it sounds like you are having the same weather as us,it has not stopped raining for days.
I did get a bit of help with my thread on Kosovich family ,I did have the best with Janey dropping in. It is very hard researching for anyone born in Yogoslavia,I am not sure what records they collected and how much has been destroyed in all ther wars over the years.
Better get the dinner dishes done and dusted. Suex

Hello Again from a VERY windy Brittany, the sun is shining but it is not very warm. Thank you Frank for the advice re spare tyres, today I shall probably call in and see the Michelan man to see if he has some inner tubes I can make use of then if I get blown over I can just bounce along, seems like a good idea, seriously it could be turned in to an olympic sport, well done Frank another good idea you had. Hope your daughter is well, is there any news?, hope she doesnt have to wait too long ,40 weeks is long enough without going overtime, hope all goes well. Ron is busy watching golf at the moment, my description would be listening to golf as he has his eyes closed. Sorry that it was such a sad occasion that caused you to come out of your shell Robert, will you come out of your shell for my birthday party? Cynthia you always seem so busy and yet you always make time to help others, I am delighted to have you as a friend. Youngest granddaughter seems O K at the moment, she is off on an outward bound course following that she is going camping with the scouts for a week then 2 weeks in Corfu with her parents, hope the Botox lasts for her. Eldest granddaughter is sailing in the Baltic with some friends from Uni. when she returns from that she is off to Corfu with her parents and young sister its all go for that family at the moment. Son and daughter in law are back from Chicago where they had a wonderful time and the wedding they attended was a great occasion. Hope all is well with Reece and her beloved O H, they have had a rough time lately havent they and must be due some good times. Still nothing on Diane,I think she is lost forever. Must tidy round the mobile home, that should take 5 minutes or so then we will be off out for lunch, poor me its such a strain. Love to all Evelyn XX

Hi
Frank ............. his appointment was at 7:50, but he was taking the bus down, so wanted to arrive in plenty of time ......... there's a coffee shop in the building :))))
We did once have a dentist who started at 7 am ........ OH loved that, he could get to work before 8 am
The dentist used to finish work at 2 pm, so he could go golfing for the afternoon ..... so method in his madness. He then sold his practice and moved to another part of the province, where he could work only mornings, and golfing was cheaper!
Robert .... so glad to see you, and to know that you are well.
night night everyone xxx
I'll be going out for coffee soon :))

Oh Robert....so very nice to know that you are alright. Thank you for keeping in touch. Stay warm in that little shell.
Evelyn, it's good to hear from you despite all your connection probs.
Anne, you mustn't have known whether you were coming or going through those revolving doors....lol Take care with that grindstone.
I bet it's an early night for Sylvia tonight....her poor OH. What a time to be at the dentist.
As for Frank........well, enough said. Weebles wobble....spare tyres...how much can a woman take???
Wondering about Reece and how things are going - hope we hear from her soon.
Night all. Cx

Wow Sylvia,
That is an early dentist's appointment. My OH is a dental practice manager and doesn't even get out of bed until 7.40...........(just another 5 minutes please zzz )
Evelyn, you should try wearing a couple of spare tyres like Cynthia which will certainly save you from any damage, should you blow over.
Weebles Wobble but they don't fall down ! heh, heh, heh ;))
Anne, my French grandmother used to make smoked pork sausage in a red wine sauce.......delicious. The recipe was then passed on to my mum then my wife then my two daughters. Still have it very occasionally as a treat even though it's my whole weeks fat / salt allowance.........keep healthy eating the rest of the time.
No sign of maternity action yet although yesterday was "the day" but she actually had a check up and everything is fine, just have to wait.......and pace.........

As usual just a flying visit - no real rain just a few showers
Its very windy though - nearly blew me back in the revolving doors lunchtime.
Nice to see you are all pottering about - enjoying your time out & about with or without OH etc -
It has calmed down a little here & today we are all heaving a big sigh of relief - lets hope they have all sorted out their holidays and are busy packing - all we need now is another volcano and here we go again.
Has anyone sent out a Sporren or 2 to track down Robert? I am sure Frank will lead the search party - closly followed by Cynthia & the rolling pin.
Did your mother give you any secret recipies? What was the best meal she cooked you? My family were all plain cooks but none of us werent hungry. I only really cook at the weekends if I get the chance as too tired when I get home - just want something I can bung in the oven or on the hob/grill etc. At the moment my OH is just eating salads.
Nice to see you Evelyn - hope Reece & her OH are doing well.
Take care everyone - have to rush back to the fold - we are probably going to be inundated this afternoon now.
Well back to the grindstone

Hello All, I havent been able to pick up Wifi very often hence my absence. We have had a couple of thunderstorms and heavy rain but today is dry though quite windy, I am solidly built so wont get blown away. We havent been doing a lot just lazing around and going out for meals, very hard life. What has happened to Robert?he hasnt eloped has he??? or has his shell collapsed and he cant get out, should we send out a search party?. You all seem to be so busy and are making me feel a bit guilty at my lack of effort that I am puting into living at the moment, but I must admit I am enjoying the lazy life, I did work until I was 72 so guess I have earned a rest. Ron is having a snooze, I shall wake him up soon and point him in the direction of the shower room then we will be off out for lunch. I will pop in again when I am able Much love to you all my friends
