Hi all
Now for the good news / bad news.
The financial advisor this morning told us that we will run out of money .............. if we live to be 136.
This afternoon ???
Have phoned daughter, and told her
I'm also going to post it on the various threads ........... I'm not shy about it!
I have invasive cancer of the left breast, Stage 1
invasive ..... not too good
Stage 1 ........... very good! That's a very early stage
I now have to wait for the surgeon to be contacted by my GP, and an appointment made for me to see her ...... fortunately for me, the surgeon of choice of the doctor who saw me today is the same surgeon I would have asked to see, the one who operated on me in 1995. The GP considers this woman to be the best surgeon, and very honest and capable. Which is exactly as I found her to be.
so I am now in a waiting game. My desire would be another mastectomy, but obviously that has to be discussed.
I'm feeling pretty good about it ......... taking it in stride. I was more than half expecting it for some reason.

Well its nice to see people popping in again
Josie - did you get the job? We have all been sitting here with fingers crossed - makes it very hard to type
Noticed Frank is missing in action again
Sue have a fantastic holiday - saying in advance incase I get lost somewhere in the system -
Cynthia - I did notice your very nice precis of info on Evelyn's thread - well done - gold stars all round - I have nudged it up a bit - will keep it going if we can.
If i can stay awake its the first of the WDYTYA tonight with June Brown - it should be a lot of fun - I am very interested in the jewish roots & London - i am sure i will find some in my tree one day - i actually think there is a Jewish branch in John's line - but still trying to find the data - this may help as its one of the London ones.
My great granny was called Hannah & its through her I started looking into my family tree -
I have had a fasination with Israel all my life - & feel very priviledged that i got to spend some time out there on a Kibbutz one near the Gaza strip & one around the shores of the Sea of Galilee many years ago now. I still remember dancing around the shore on New Years Eve & walking around & seeing Snow in Jerusalem. I always thought the family had a Jewish connection - but nothing yet.
My great granny was born in Sussex & so were most of the family - so Hannah must just have been a name they liked at the time - so far i have traced them back to the wilds of Hampshire. I have her (indirectly) to thank for my now great love of family history & all the years spent in archives & the time I spend on a computer.
Well a potted history of my life - anyone who wants to know more about my life in Israel let me know.
Another time i will tell of the time I spent in Italy & the time I lived in US in Texas & Oklahoma.
Take care all <3 <3 <3

Hi Everyone
Josie I think you and I think the same ,someone is out to cause mayhem and it is working or be it by stealth.
It really is bad when you have to leave your own Country to be safe and let others NOT born there take over.
I am all back to normal thank the lord ,it has been a very long bug that has lingered in me all this time but we finally got the little blighter.
I am off to Bali on Sunday and I am looking forward to it now ,it will be nice to feel warm again. The rain has gone for a few days but back on Sunday just in time for us to fly out.
Cynthia I am afraid I have lost track with Evelyn's thread so it will take me a bit of time to read up again on it but I will.
Well I am off to get diner going Stay safe everyone in the UK.

It True ly is quite horrific to see the Rioting that is going on . From what I have read lately though, What is happening is not surprising
These youth who are rioting are being incited to do it by messages posted on the web through social net working sites. One has to ask, who it is, who is trying to destabilize the British Government ?
The social conditions in England are volatile enough at this time for this kind of out of control anarchy.
My prayers are with you Cynthia and Anne, at this time,I pray that you and your families will not be any way caught up or harmed in this Mayhem.
And that the Government will get their act together and call in the military to assist the police.
Take care everyone Josie

The riots are dreadful and contagious so it seems - Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham. We watch the news with horror.
The good thing which has come out of this though, is that it seems to have rallied the community spirit in many people. There have been reports of ordinary, decent people taking to the streets with their brushes and bin bags in an attempt to restore order. Well done them!
Lovely to see Evelyn popping in again and, you may have noticed that I have been beavering away behind the scenes trying to condense the story of the illusive Diane. Take a look at Evelyn's thread and see if you can help fill some gaps. The more the merrier. There has got to be an answer somewhere. Evelyn is becoming famous - there are so many members on here wanting to help.
It's a quick visit this morning.....will try again later. Love to all Cx

Well looks like nothing came of it here - Just a whole load of people trying to frighten other people.
Well last morning of the earlies - been here since 4:45 - won't miss it - may try & get the afternoon off tomorrow.
I think the governments around the world need to sort out their immigration policies - The UK seems to have more immigrants now than the original UK population over 40 years ago - a lot of people i know have moved abroad as they don't get the same problems over there. Its sad when you have to move out of your country as other races are ruining your homeland - i do think we should tighten up on it a lot more.
However off the soapbox now
Working on saturday but get sunday free - i seem to have loads to do at home as we were out last weekend. I never seem to catch up on things at the moment. OH seems to be tired all the time - perhaps its because he hasn't a lot to keep him occupied.
Well off for a mooch around the threads & see whats going on in between calls & work.
Take care all <3 <3 <3

Oh Anne
I hope you are going to Ok,it really is so stupid is'nt it ,they must be so board with life.
I don't think this multicultural thing is going to work ever we all live so different and we all different values,it is the same here in OZ,I try to be fair but when I see boatloads of middle eastern men arriving it terrifies me .
We are having alot of trouble here with them,it is how they live in there own country and it comes here with them ...not many women and children mind you so who is back home looking after them.
Bring in the Army is the best thing to do . Stay safe everyone ,it might be a good time to visit Robert in his cave !!

Sue i can do early mornings - its late nights i can't
I was awake at 2 this morning anyway
It looks like Brighton is joining in with it all - no-one seems to know why - its just an excuse for the youth of the country to fight each other & cause problems. Our shopping centre is locing the doors early & sending the staff home early - we are also getting extra police presence at the stations to stop the yobs from getting here from the london burbs.
I think we are are now on amber alert here in the office - thats the problem of working in a big city & for a Multi -National company as well. We don't have any Army anywhere near here - but it looks like a lot of the main cities are getting ready for trouble in the next day or so.
No wonder we want to leave & go somewhere else. At least i sort of lived through the mods & rockers & they only damaged a small area of the sea front in the 60's.
At least i am about 15 mins away from the shopping centre & the station & i live on the outskirts as well - but only over the hill from the major hotspot area where there is sometimes a lot of trouble - but it has been calm for a couple of years now, but scarey all the same.
Looks like things are hotting up in town already as there is a mob heading from the secondary shopping area towards the main centre as I type.
Back in the office early tomorrow - will let you know if anything goes off in Brighton tonight.
Keep safe everyone :-P ;-) :-) <3

Hi Everyone
Anne what are you doing at work at 4.30 in the morning,I would be still sleeping you poor thing.
I hope none of you live anywhere near London,I think it is terrible what has happened to the UK over the years and the same will happen in OZ if we don't stop the boat people that keep coming here from Afghanistan and surrounding areas.
On looking at the news last night it seems to be coloured people doing all the looting and burning, now I am not against coloured people at all but from what I can see they left there own country for a better life but they are living the same in the UK as they did in there own country. They may as well go home to where they came from.
Sorry if I sound mean but really this is just too much ,I still have a lot of rellies who live on the outskirts of Bristol seems they are having some problems as well.
I see Nancy Wake Died, what a great human being she was,not many people around with her courage any more.
Evelyn I hope your OH is more comfortable now and is home again with you.
I have to get dinner going will come back later. Really looking forward to my trip now. Suex :-) <3

Well here i am at 5am in a very dark office - drizzling out side - the nght I needed to get some sleep we had a bit of a storm & very heavy rain - never mind.
For some strange reason I offered my services early morning & here I am at 5am - so i have a 12 & a half hour day ahead of me today & Wednesday - well you have to take what you can get. I get all 4 hours at double as they need me in tomorrow as well now.
Quite good if it stays quiet but it probably won't.
Cynthia - looks like you need a new oven as well or a little man to fix it. Well VIP visit came & went - she didn't come to see us at all - so tidy up for nothing
Evelyn lovely to have you back with us - sorry to hear about Ron being back in hospital - but as you say he is in the best place & I am sure they will sort him out for you. I hate it whwn appliances breakdown - its never just one - we had the washing machine - closely followed by the fridge freezer. washing machine was 11 years old - fridge freezer was 15 years old - so they did a good few years service - wonder how long the newer ones will last.
Visit to the outlaws went without a hitch this time FinL was very quiet - hardly said a word (well alwasy a problem when SinL & MinL don't stop talking either) but he was extra quiet.
Have to say i can't see a Grace Darling link anywhere yet - but I will keep looking.
Sue glad youa re feeling beter the trip to bali will do you good.
Wonder where all the others are this weekend.
Nothing really to report today so far - will try & pop back lunchtime - see if anyone around. However they wern't - so see you all tomorrow ?
take care all <3 ;-) <3

Hello My Friends, things are not so good at the moment Ron is back in hospital as his breathing was very difficult also his chest needed to be drained again, he is in the best place as the treatment he is getting is second to none, he is on oxygen at the moment, maybe when I visit today he will be a bit brighter, ever hopeful. Never rains but it pours both my cooker and washing machine have decided to give up, so instead of bothering with repairs I decided as both machines are getting on in years (like me ) it would be as well to replace them and both are being delivered and fitted on Tuesday morning. Cant stop sneezing this morning, pollen count must be high Now I am going to plug the vacuum cleaner in, I wonder will it be the 3rd thing to pack up?? My love to everyone and thank you for all your kind thoughts. Cynthia did you ever manage to find out who lived at that address in Dafforne Road. Well a vacuuming I shall go, cheerio all Evelyn XX <3 <3 <3 <3

Hi Everyone
Cynthia you are very ingenious I would never have thought of that, the ignition thingy on my hot plate drives me nuts when it won't light. so I keep a box of matches handy.
Feeling a bit better this what ever it is has has knocked me for six this time. Still pouring down with rain ...that's good for the water storage but it stops me from being outdoors and that is where I am the happiest .
Helping a friend at the moment with an Irish rellies ...not easy I must say.
Anne Good job you finding you have been underpaid nice little pick up,I hope your trip to the Outlaw goes well.
Looking forward to my trip to Bali now ...doing nothing for 6 days appeals to me right now.
Going for a nice hot bath then into my Granny nightie.
Pop in tonight.

Good to know you are feeling a bit better Sue.....don't rush things though. You'll be back on your bike in no time at all hopefully.
How was the VIP visit Anne? Was it anyone famous? Enjoy your weekend. It would be very interesting to know if you are related to Grace Darling. It's funny you should mention her actually because there was a programme on on Monday night.....to do with antiques. There were three experienced antique amateurs on and one of them had no idea who Grace Darling was! And I thought I was stooopid........ :-S
Having a trauma with my oven at the moment as the ignition thingey has gone AGAIN! It fizzled out part way through cooking a meal but, being a woman, I put my brain into gear and found a short garden cane which I wedged between the cooker knob and the drawers opposite in order to keep the flames alight.
Then, last night, I did a stirfry with my hip pressed against the knob to keep the oven on for hot plates.
Where there's a will......etc :-D
With love to all friends on here ~~~~Cx

Morning - well I was here in the office at 5:45 - but got distracted by tidying up - we have a VP arriving today - so it tidy tidy tidy
I can't work with an empty desk - I need paper around me
Just found out i should have been claiming double time when i did the early morning shift (well at least an hour of it ) just counted up - in total they owe me 58 hours pay - which would be great this month as they have reduced all the OT at the moment. will try & get round the boss to get this worked in this month
The saying is everything happens for a purpose
I hate arriving in the office at 9am - feel as though half my morning has gone already. I like to arrive when i am all on my own & then the others join me a hour or so later.
After all that rain yesterday its a lovely day so far.
Glad you are feeling better Sue
Don't really know what to suggest about your friend without knowing some more details.
We are at the outlaws this weekend - will try & see if I can log on but forgot the paperwork last time :-( We are trying out a new restaurant this week & the menu online looks really good - hope the service is better than the last one.
Treated myself to a doner last night & very nice it was too.
My cousin on my fathers side has been in touch & reckons we are related to Grace Darling & several other lighthouse families - where from I have no idea - but gives me something to do in my lunch hour.
Waves & hugs to all the missing ones ((((((~~~~~~~~~~~~))))))
Will try & check back in a bit later
Take care all ;-) :-) <3 <3 <3

Hi Everyone
I would like curls of any description ,my hair is dead strait.
Every time I wash it I have to blow dry it into my style ...it is a very time consuming thing to have to do every four or so days.
Feeling a bit better today slowly recovering ,I must admit antibiotics don't go down well with me at any time...they make me feel sick in themselves.
Anne we have rain coming again tonight it has been sunny the last two days...cold but sunny,it has not bothered me because I have stayed indoors. I am very board now ,as I have not ridden my bike for a good week,I hate staying inside .
Still not having any luck helping my friend find her real father...all the agencies I have contacted want information she does not have so where do we go from hear, they all want money in some shape or form before they will help, that's a sad state of affairs in itself as the records are there and belong to the participants in my mind anyway.
I am putting it into the too hard basket until she can give me more info to go on.
We have just had our census form delivered today, every five years over here but no records are released to the public and all the older records are not kept either ,they are destroyed so god help the people in 100 years doing Genealogy there will be nothing to look up in OZ except BDM.
Off to catch up with some housework...it has got away from me lately.
Have a good day everyone . Suex :-) <3

Hi
it is warm here, but not too humid
Nova Scotia was terribly humid! I hated it.
I washed my hair, blow dried it, and within 10 minutes it was almost as wet as when I started!
Then I got this wonderful wave on one side. The next day, there were 2 waves on that side.
I complained to J that the humidity was making a mess of my hair
"MUM! You have the most wonderful marcelled waves! People pay large amounts of money to have those doen, and you're complaining about them!"
Only parents will know the tone of voice of that "MUM" :-D
take care everyone

Poor Sue, it sounds as though you really are having a bad time - do take care of yourself. I've heard that pleurisy can be very painful indeed.
Krispy Kreme doughnut......yummmmm. My favourite doughnuts are the sugary ones which squirt jam out all over you! Messy but nice. :-D
I have quite a glut of runner beans at the moment but am not complaining. They are so nice compared with the supermarket variety!
Which reminds me that we are having some with our meal tonight - had better stagger out to the kitchen again. Wish I enjoyed cooking :-\
Hope everyone in the UK is coping with this humid weather....can be a bit sticky and uncomfortable at times.
Love to all. Cx

Welcome back everyone - its nice to have friends around.
Cynthia - what an exciting start to the day
Sue - sounds silly to say wrap up well & stay in the warm at this time of year.
Its very hot & humid here around 29 degrees today - its the humidity that seems to kill us off.
We have just been offered free health checks - very tempted - but I know they will tell me to lose weight (which I already know) & a eat a healthier diet (if they give me the money to buy the food)
We tried a healthy eating week & my shopping bill went up over £25 UK pounds for those outside & thats a lot of money - even with fresh fruit juices & bio yogurt its expensive.
Talking of healthy eating - we have jsut been offered a Krispy Kreme doughnut each (twice) well i was very good you will be pleased to hear.
BOTH OF MINE HAD A HOLE IN THE MIDDLE so less calories. he he
excuse the typing - nibbling on my Krispy Kreme
Reece I do get despondent over my tree from time to time - so I leave it & work on th Oh's & when it happens there I go back to mine & sometimes I leave it all for a couple of months. There are lots of other places to have a mooch trough - If you ahve anythign in Kent let me know - i am off to Canturbury records office on Saturday.
The good thing with Ancestry, Family Search & Gr is that things are being added all the time - so its woth leaving things for a bit sometimes - OH was feeling fed up so gave him a Brickwall project on ancestry - kept him amused for weeks. He was so chuffed when he found things - kept us busy for weeks getting the records out & adding or checking details.
Didn't like to tell him i already had some of it - but it never hurst rechecking things.
He is going back to looking at his tree now - then I will get hi on Roots magic - he can check all the info from the paper records have made it on to the computer - that will keep him busy for a long time - only wish he got paid for it.
I can talk - my roots magic & GR trees are very out of date
On the subject of the Bourn's Reece - no still a brick wall - but now I may have her parents (nothing certain) and they are a brick wall as well now.
I have no idea how people can go through life and leave no paper trail or an idea of a place of Birth - its a very big mystery.
Well finished the doughnut (very nice it was too) I will start my diet & excercise regime next week when we are back from the outlaws - my exercise machine is still in its box. Must be nearly 2 months now - how bad.
Back to work see whats on the horizon.
Take care all <3 ;-) <3
