Dear friends,
Sally, thank you for thinking of me - I have moved to Dorset but have been back in London for the past month and only recently returned to my new home.
I'm not able to post any more today but will try to return in the near future.
With love to all,
Reece

Hello to all my friends
Sorry I have been so busy since we got back but it is all slowing down now :-D
Oh has appointment with Surgeon on 3rd Oct,hope it is done quick so we can get on with our lives ,Knee surgery we do not know yet .
The boards are good at present as I have not seen are resident trouble maker around ....or has she changed her board name again not sure :-(
We had the granddaughter and her hubby and baby stay the weekend ,nice to have them ,they are looking for another house to rent until they can buy one ,that will take them awhile to save deposit. They are staying with our Dau and her Hubby so thought it would be a nice rest for them to have their house back for the weekend :-D
Not a lot to report today except it is still raining and very windy ...I would say that the drought has well and truly broken in WA,don't know what the government thinks though ,it has been a good excuse for them to put the price of water up dramatically. I wonder if it will ever come down now ...dought it :-(
Better get back to the Housework :-(
Love to all my friends <3
Suex :-D
Reece ... it is lovely to hear from you <3

Hello everyone.......nice to see Reece posting again. <3
Hope everything goes okay with your OH's appointment with the surgeon Sue. Knee pain is SO very painful. I had a cartlidge op about 17 years ago and then had a thrombosis afterwards - which I hadn't bargained for......thankfully, they deal with these things much quicker nowadays. :-)
Seems as though Anne continues to have fun and games with the cats.....they're sure keeping her out of mischief.
Waving to Josie ~~~~~
As for the sad situation we faced re our vicar - his funeral was held last Friday. The church was absolutely packed, as was the meeting room and people were even standing outside in the rain. It was a very fitting tribute to a man who had meant so much to so many.
It will take months before the congregation settles down to some sort of normality. Many have taken the shock of his death quite badly and, there is so much paperwork, organising and arranging of things to sort out. We are a very active and busy church and so lots of people are involved.
Love to your all........Cx <3

Hi Sue, and everyone
Sue .... glad to hear that you had a restful holiday. Hope that your OH gets sorted out soon.
Reese ............... nice to see you back. I often think of you, but don't often post these days!
Anne ...... I love the story of your two cats, who are not really yours!!
Josie .......... also nice to see you posting again. I've heard many stories of the NZ winter!
Sally .............. I hope your OH is doing well
Cyn ................. I talk to you elsewhere, so I'm not really ignoring you
Arthur ................ how nice that your nephew came to help you tame your garden. Is there much more to do??
The weather has been very pleasant here for several days................. sunny, about 18C. But i gather we have the first of the autumnal storms coming through late tomorrow. I need to find out my sou'wester and wellies
The antibiotics did their work, and that problem seems to be cleared up :-D
I've been feeling off-colour for a couple of days ................ sort of nauseous and a bit of a tummy upset. I thought I was over it today, I felt great ................. until about 2 hours after I'd had my lunch. :-( We were supposed to go out this evening, but I have called off, and OH is going to go to the reception by himself.
I suppose I've got to look carefully at what I had for lunch ................ which did not contain anything that I haven't been eating without any problems for months :-S
My daughter and grandson arrive for a week's visit on Friday next week, the 27th. She opted for a late flight out of her home town, so they arrive here at 11:30 pm, which is about 3:30 am their time ......................... I have no idea what state the 3½ year old grandson will be in when they arrive ................... either so over tired that he's flying, or completely zombied!
take care everyone

Hi Sue, and everyone
I'm going to be at sixes and sevens for the next 10 days or so.
I have no idea when I will be able to get on here.
Sis-i-l arrived about 8 pm esterday evening, went for a biopsy this morning, then leaves about 6 pm Friday evening
We then have to set the room up for daughter and grandson, whose plane arrives at 11:30 pm that same evening
Other friends arrive at about 11:30 pm Saturday evening ............. so we have to set up the hide-a-bed in this room, where I have the computer.
They'll leave after lunch on Sunday
Daughter and grandson leave on Friday evening next week.
sooooooooooooooooooooooooo .........................
if you sees me, you sees me :-D :-D :-D
Take care everyone

Hello Friends
I have been very naughty of late but things have been so hectic what with one thing and another.
Grandaughter moves into her house today finally found a house to rent and it is nice small but enough for them until they can save enough for a deposit on a new house to buy .
We have the grt grand daughter with us today ,little angle just feel asleep in my arms ,she runs around everywhere now so cute.
The weekend is going to be busy with moving all her furnisher ......stored at my house by the way so we will be glad to get our games room back .
Sylvia it sounds like you are going to be busy with your house full I hope you have a great visit with everyone ...I love it when the family is all together.
The Boards are so quiet I don't know what is happening but Genes has gone downhill lately, maybe they should have left well alone and not made so many changes also they should have stopped all the trouble makers of trying to take over the boards ....one I have not seen or heard of for quite a while.
Hope you all have a wonderfull weekend <3

The boards have, indeed, been quiet lately so I think quite a few are elsewhere!
I've been busy what with one thing and another. I had so much ironing today, that I feel I have flattened the Himalayas..... :-D
One thing that has kept me occupied for quite a while, is preparation for a wedding fayre we are having at church. I've been borrowing and scanning old wedding photos and it's been really interesting. How fashions have changed over the years!!!
Anyway, I just popped in to say a quick 'hello' to everyone. Hope you are all okay.
Love, Cx

My nephew has put decking on the brick supports from the old shed. We have assembled a 12 ft x 8 ft greenhouse that has been in my carport for 6 years.
He has designed and nearly built a 12 ft x 7 ft shed to replace the old one - will be glad to get all my garden tools in one place.
Still to do is build a base for an Access frame, a wall to support an area of the garden from slipping - I live on a hill. He is also building a wall in front of a retaining wall in my 'sunken' garden. the previous wall spalled as the previous owner had not used engineering bricks.
I am hoping to clear all the brambles and weeds before the winter sets in.
Away in Scotland. I am attending a discussion weekend in Grantown-on-Spey. Speakers from around the world will be talking on plants. It is a really wonderful social occasion. Driving up with my best friend on Thursday.. Back home late Monday evening.
My nephew volunteered to look after my cats - they were born one year ago on Monday.

Gosh how time flies - 1 year already Arthur
Cynthia let me know if you want a copy of my wedding photos 20 years apart.
Reece lovely to hear from you again
Glad you had a good time away Sue & Sylvia
We had the week off last week & good weather too we were very lucky & got a few days out - but also had things to do in the garden
Our little Shadow is still with us - so we bought him a basket to take him to the vets for a check over.
Horror of horrors they found he had a chip - I think I was about to cry & OH was in shock too.
So they called his “Owner” he had been missing since April 2012 & he found us in June 2013 - goodness only knows where he has been - well at least we know a bit about him like his real name & he is 10 years old now.
His owner wants to come & visit to make sure he is fit & well – & then she will sign him over to us as he is obviously happy with us but she wants to see for herself how he is - I have to admit I am very apprehensive about her visiting.
Wish i had a video of me trying to get him in the Cat basket & the Yowling all the way to & from the vet & in the Surgery – five attempts to get him shut in & a little black paw trying to undo the locks all the time.
We are not going to call him by his original name - we tried it a couple of times & he still does not answer to it.
He is half Burmese & half Ragdoll - No wonder he has a pathetic yowl. He also wakes up at 1am every morning & wants to play or sleep with me on the pillow.
Must go work calls Take care all

Does Shadow's original owner live locally?
As he is half Burmese he should have a good number of years still to live. Mine are half Burmese and half unknown.
Vikki, now aka Podge, is nearly 5kg, whilst Nikki is 4.2kg. One stores fat and the other burns it - I recognise the fat storing problem!!
Hope the owner recognises what a good job you have done and that he is happy with you.

Hi Arthur
Well she lives a few miles away - in a lot beter area - I am worried she will think its not good enough - but he chose to live with us & seems very happy - and we are prepared to look after him and the vet fees.
Insurance is so expensive for older cats
Little terror wont talk to the OH at the moment only wants me - OH was in a bad mood all day yesterday as our BT line has died. They told him they will charge us if its an internal fault - so he was well wound up. We have had no phone line for 2 days now & no internet.
Be interesting to see what they find - we think they have disconnected us to set up an Infinity line for a neighbour - I cant see the point in paying extra for something we dont use very often as we dont tend to download a lot.
He wont like us on saturday as we have the day at the outlaws & he took ages to speak to us last time.
I think he got the Black Burmese from his father - his coat is very sleek & shiny & so soft
Take care all

Hi Sue, and everyone
Arthur ................ how the time has flown!!
I hope you enjoyed your weekend away.
Tabitha .................. I hope Shadow's ex-owner is happy with how he now looks, and leaves him with you. xxxx
to bring you up to date ...........
we had a great week with daughter and grandson. Everyone was really relaxed, and enjoyed the visit. Daughter was more relaxed because she was not worrying about any effects people might be having on her husband!
They left on Friday evening, and we are back to as much like normal as we ever are!!
it was great to have them, and we did some interesting things with the tiddley!
OH's sis-i-l is not in good form ...........................
her trip down here showed that she does have metastazied (??sp) colon cancer into some lymph nodes.
Treatment .................... can only be chemo. because the nodes are too close to important organs for radiation.
Her choice was .........
....... no treatment and about 1 year to live
....... chemo and an expected life span of 2-3 years, or possibly to 6 years.
She has opted for chemo ..................... but is not starting that for about 5 weeks, to give her time to do some things she's always wanted to do ............... including an all-girls visit to Hawaii with some friends!!
She currently feels very well, and is trying to enjoy life while she can. She was told that it would make no difference if she left starting chemo for 2-3 months.
I am only posting this on "my" threads, so please no-one start any "be sorry for Sylvia" threads!

Oh Sylvia how sad - I wouldn't dream of starting up another thread for someone
At least she is going to enjoy herself for a few months - I hope it all goes well & she gets as much time as possible.
I am confused - I think I missed something on another posting - why is your daughter worried about the effects people have on her OH
Our Vets and some friends do not think we should have the Ex-Owner round as it may upset the cat & I don’t particularly want her to come to my house either.
The vets & Pharmacy think if she really wants to see him she should meet at the vets - my OH said he is not happy with that as she could take the cat & basket home with her - its a bit of a nightmare.
I want him to have his jabs ASAP - and he is putting on weight - he is not a very outdoor cat now
I don’t know what to do for the best
I would really miss him if we lost him - i know i have only had him for 3 months but he is such a sweet natured cat - even if he does get us up during the night.
He got cross with us the other day & went & jumped in the middle of his litter tray - scattering it around a bit & then stood there looking at me & started kicking it out in all directions - did a bit of a huff - jumped out & ran up stairs - left me all the litter to clear up. Little devil didn't use it at all.

Hi Sue, and everyone
Anne ................ that is hard to decide what to do, isn't it?
Can you arrange to be at the vets when she comes to see the cat?
Daughter's husband gets "overloaded" when there are people around, and he can't control what is happening. He then disappears for a walk, or tries to control. I think there are autistic traits there :-(
Today (Tuesday) was the "putting to rest" of our friend who died a couple of months ago
ie, burying the urn containing his ashes.
It has taken time to organise, because the widow wanted them to go into the ground in the Garden where we all worked.
It went really well. The weather was beautiful and sunny. The spot chosen was in a quiet but accessible area, and everything was ready to pop the container into the ground. There were 6 of us, plus the Director and Assistant Director, and we all took turns in putting some soil back into the ground.
A few tears by the widow, but I think she is doing as well as can be expected.
We are going to stay with her for Christmas, and hope to also get over there in the next 4 or 5 weeks, just for a couple of days.
One of the long time friends, who had moved up north 35 years ago, arrived rather unexpectedly this weekend, so he was able to attend.
I'm very tired now!
OH had to see the dermatologist in the morning before the putting to rest ................. and ended up having whatever-it-is on the tip of his ear scraped off :-0
By dinner time, I noticed red marks on his shirt and cardi :-(
so now we're trying to stem the seeping flow.
It should scab over in 2 or 3 days.
He SAYS it did not and does not hurt :-0
what a day!!!
take care everyone

Hello Friends
My last week has been very busy what with Computer malfunctions and the like . I downloaded AVG Tune Up it did cost me but it was worth it . My Computer is now back to new again and quite fast considering it is Window XP,I am very pleased.
I can't get my smiley faces back though.... don't know what happened with them, I have contacted Genes but to date I have not heard anything from them .
Always had my Compatibility off for the tree and on for the boards ,it still works on the tree but not on the boards so ....i just don't know what to do .
Sylvia ...so sorry to hear about your friend ,I do hope no matter how long she has left that it is full of good times and lots of love and she gets her treatment ASAP.
Saying goodbye to friends is also so hard ,we have just had the same happen to us ,my friend is going away for Christmas this year as she does not want to be in the house without her Neil..... this year it will be too hard for her.
It sounds like you have had a hard couple of weeks and you need a good rest.
Anne sorry but I do not like Cats very much, I much prefer to have birds around my garden but I can understand your hesitance in not wanting the old owners to take him back ...for your sake I hope that does not happen to your newly found cat.
Reese I hope you are keeping well.
Cynthia keep up the good work you are doing on the Boards.
Sally hope you ar keeping well also.
Josie pop in when you get the chance.
Lots of Love to you all.

thanks for the explaination Sylvia - I was getting confused - hope your OH will get better soon -
Sue - my SIL is the same & hates cats using her garden for the loo
The owner has said she did not want him back if he has settled with us - & wanted to check out the house to make sure he is happy & well cared for.
Thats what I am not happy about - would we have taken him to the vets for a check up & jabs if we did not look after him or if he had not settled with us.
He is very settled & does not really want to go out for longer than an hour & if he had his way would sit on our lap all day & night.
You would like Shadow as he is not interested in birds - he sits & watches then & they seem to walk all round him - one even landed on him the other day & he didn't move (that was a magpie) - he is not sure about them -
Now if the Squirrels get in the garden - he is off like a rocket - he hates them for some reason. he is not happy when other cats get in the garden either and stalks them till they jump over the fence or wall. Then he saunters back & sits & washes while his eyes sweep the garden for any other feline movement.
His favourite spot is on the window ledge with the window open. Then he can launch himself off & chase what he wants. Trouble is its getting too cold now for us to sit with the window open all the time. At night if he pops out it hard to see him return unless he yawns or yowls as its very dark & he is a black cat. I knocked him off the window sill by accident.
Oh well back to work take care all

Cannot recall when you said owner's visit was to take place, but hope all goes as it should. She obviously did care for the cat or she would not be bothering now, but it is in the cat's best interest to stay with you.
My PC died on me the other day - now using laptop, but do not have contact details for friends and some members of family. Had meant to export addresses etc to my laptop, but am world's worst procrastinator. Did not keep a paper copy !!
Hoping a friend who is a computer whiz can extract info from my hard drive. As time goes by you realise so many other things that are importantand may be lost for ever.
Also, the washing machine has broken - think it is the PCB. Not that old and only used for light loads at regular intervals for last 3 years. Hoping engineer's visit will fix it for a lot less than a new machine.

Congratulations Sally - I hope you many more happy years together
We had our 15th this year - 2nd time for both of us - we have been together for 21 years now - time flies so quickly it does not seem that long
You voiced my own thoughts about cat napping - it would be such a worry not knowing where he went if we lost him.
The area they now live is a lot more expensive than my area so I don't want them wanting to take him away from here as they don't think its good enough for him.
Just don't know what to do for the best really.
Take care all - have a good weekend
