Hi Everyone

I for one am totally over this Summer ...so much humidity this year with it so it has been a really sticky Summer .

My Sister and her OH have arrived today and the weather has cooled down for them but I think they would have liked the hot weather ,when they left the UK two weeks ago it was snowing then.

They first went to Sydney as her OH's family are there then on to New Zealand to visit his Mum then back to us so I can't wait to see her .

We drive up from Busselton tomorrow morning for a days visit then back up again next Wednesday to bring her back with me for a few days :-D

Will be back on again on Friday <3.

Lovely to see you all back again, very excited at the moment to see my Sister again.

Love to everyone <3

Suex <3 <3 <3 :-D :-D :-D

Sally

Can you tell me the name of the distant Nicholls. I will try to see if I can find a connection. My tree on Ancestry is more complete.

Moment of high drama yesterday with one of the kittens. A parcel was delivered whilst I was on the phone. Struggling to answer the door and hold onto phone, I did not notice that Vikki managed to squeeze past. When my friend called about an hour later to drive me to our Bridge afternoon, I found I was minus a kitten. PANIC.
I looked in the back garden in case she had worked her way around the house and my friend went to look in the wood. As he came back to the house - having seen the resident dog fox in the wood - he spotted her dashing into the neighbour's Leylandii hedge. It took a further ten minutes to encourage her to come out. Panic over.
Good job it was Vikki who escaped because she at least had some idea of the front garden from her escape yesterday.

Sun is shining - true - so they will have another planned visit to the back garden.

Good luck for today Sally

High drama indeed Arthur - sounds like Vikki is an escape artist

Sue - such a happy time for you & the family

Hi everyone.....seems as though I have a lot to catch up with on here.... :-D

Sally, do hope everything goes well with your OH....that was a bad experience for all of you.

Sue is probably having a whale of a time with her sister.............hope so anyway.

Arthur, I think you must be worn out with those mischievous kittens....I know I would be.

Anne....still working hard...?? ;-)

FBG is recovering from a slight stroke but seems to be doing okay. The family are keeping her busy and the problem is, she just can't say NO when she should.........sigh......

Evelyn is well but has been saddened by the death of one of her brothers today. Still no nearer finding Diane. I am hoping to get her baptism certificate to see if that throw any light on things.

I've been hithering and thithering around with this and that. The weather today has been horrible : bitter wind, swirling snow etc. :-( I'm really glad to be in the warm.

We had visitors today when my brother and sister in law called on their way up to Cumbria. Hope they got there alright with the weather the way it is......

Re the Pope.....it's been quite a week what with all the ceremonials in Rome and Canterbury. How odd that we should see a new Pope and a new Archbishop of Canterbury in the same week.... :-D

They both seem as though they are going to be slightly different in their approach to the task ahead of them and I wish them well. They certainly have their work ct out. I actually met Justin Welsby about 5 years ago and he was very nice and easy to chat to.

It's getting bedtime for me here so I will wish you all good night.........

Take care my friends...... Cx..... <3 <3

Well we had S*** again today - thankfully not a lot compared to the other sufferers up north - dont think i have ever seen S*** so high well over the top of cars - our weather is so weird thia year

Aparently they have stopped taking bets ofr a white Easter - its been years since we had **** this time of year

The months seem to be flying by its nearly April - only feels like it was Xmas a couple of weeks ago.

Hope all is well Sally & your Oh is on the mend

Any news on the move Reece?

I seem to have acquired a nasty cough which is quickly turning into a cold - just in time for a few days off. I blame the weather one min cold next warm & so on & with the new building we seem to be always over heating .

Hope everyone had a good weekend Take care all

Cynthia

Cynthia Report 26 Mar 2013 08:24

I agree that the year is flying past.......much too fast for my liking.....but I would love Spring to arrive properly.

One of the neighbours helped me to clear our drive on Saturday morning so that I could get the car onto the road. The wind has been dreadful and caused so much drifting. We keep a planter in front of our garage door when it's windy because the door tends to rattle rather alarmingly.

On Sunday morning, I needed something from the garage but, could I move that planter??? Nope, it was iced firmly to the ground. I ended up using hot water and salt to shift it, so I am definitely sick of snow now :-(

Take care all......Cx <3

Anne......hope you got up at the right time........6am is a very early start... :-S

I'm surprised you have to work today as I know it is the law that large shops have to remain closed on Easter Day - do you work in a small place then? :-S

It's been a busy week what with one thing and another but I love Easter and it's so worth all the busyness. :-D

Happy Easter Everyone

Cynthia - thought you knew where i worked

Its a very large US company - - the office is 24 hours 365 days a year - with clients all over the world.

My area look after the Elite & we do anything & everything they ask for as long as its legal moral & ethical. From arranging holidays to large parties & events - to Breakfast meetings/ladies who lunch or dinner for 2 to 50 - arraning hair appointments, spa treatments, babysitting - tours & day trips - from the usual to unusual. You name it i Have probably tried to arrange it or book it.

For instance this morning someone called in looking for a Violin shop in Oxford who could repair a valuable Violin for a concert tomorrow.

Just shout if you want to know anything unusual.

Some of the more stupid things were - arrange a private visit with the Pope & the queen (at different times) - Organise a helicopter to hover over the stadium for the opening of the Olympics last year - arrange for a lifesize plastic farm yard to be set up in someones garden for a party.

We get some very strange requests for 40th birthday parites - let alone childrens parties.

Oh well must go - trying to finish off some research

Take care all & enjoy the lovely sunny day - even if it is quite cold.

Hi everyone, and a very Happy Easter to you all.
Believe it or not we are now in British Summer Time, What a joke, it is just about 0degrees centigrade here in Essex at the moment with a very hard frost forecast for tomorrow morning. I am sure glad that I am off work for the Easter holidays for the next two weeks. Hopefully it will be a bit warmer when I go back.

Had some lovely news on Thursday 14th March, a brand new Great Grandaughter, "Faith Ali". Her poor mum just about got to the hospital in Maldon before she was born. It was only thirty five minutes from the time her waters broke till the time that the baby was born. This is now my third great grandchild and I am over the moon. I have not been able to see her yet as I have had a very miserable viral infection for what seems like ages now, and I don't want to pass it on to her.

I sincerely hope everyone is keeping well,
Regards,
John :-)

Congratulations John - How lovely & a very special time of year - a time for new beginnings

No frost last night - on Sunday morning we had nearly 2 inches of Ice on the car & it stayed icy till gone 11am & the grass was white & sparkly in the sun.

Hard to believe 15 years ago i was planning my wedding and now look at us. It would have been nice to go away somewhere for the week in June - but finances wont allow - who knows something good may turn up for us soon.

hope you all had a wonderful Easter

Take care all

I will be taking the kittens - really should now be called cats as they are larger than my old cat ever was - to the cattery. in a few hours. A new experience for them and it will be interesting to see how they react so soon after being able to explore my front and rear gardens. They have been very good and do come when I call. They are happy to return through the cat flap, but 'need' me to open it for them to go out - that will have to stop!

I am going with two friends to northern Greece to look for flowers. Hope it is a lot warmer than here.

On Friday last I was meant to go down to Swindon to see my brther and his family. Planned arrival was 12.30. By 12.30 I had only reached the new Service Station on the M25 at Cobham!!!! The traffic was horrendous yet did not get a mention on the radio. I phoned them and said I was going back home. The tailback was still 7 miles and counting. The radio still did not mention the hold up! They did say it was expected that 17 million people would be travelling on Good Friday - half must have been on the southern route of the M25!

Hi Everyone

Happy belated Easter to you all.

My Sister has been and gone ,she is now back in the UK with all your cold weather but we did send her back with a sun tan.

We had a wonderful time together but it is so hard to say goodbye again as usual I cried when she left.

Our weather is starting to cool a little so it was not to hot for her.

Evelyn I am so sorry for the passing of your brother we are all thinking of you.

We have so many Easter eggs to eat ,I can see I am going to put on a few kilo's.

Busy washing and striping beds at present ...won't be long and i will be ready for our next lot of visitors one being my Brother.....at least here the washing dries in no time

:-D

Check in tonight ...see the clocks have gone back in time over there so must remember that.

Hi everyone :-D

John, what lovely news - you sound so proud of your brand new gt. granddaughter. Hope you get to see her soon...

Greece! It sounds wonderful Arthur. Have a brilliant holiday and come back safe.

Anne, I thought you arranged holidays, not all those exciting events....sounds like good fun to be honest. Now I know where to come when I want to come up with something different.... :-D

So glad you had a good time with your sister Sue and I can imagine how sad you must have been to see her leave. Never mind, in this day and age it is so easy to keep in touch what with Skype etc. We could do with some of your sunshine over here - believe me!

I've got a lot of Easter eggs to eat too........ so I've decided to eat them as quickly as I can and then I can get back to trying to lose weight....sounds like a good plan to me :-D :-D

It's been half term round here so my daughter has been off work for 2 weeks. That means that I tend to go out with her in the afternoons and I am worn out!! Roll on schooltime.... :-D :-D

Take care everyone Cx <3 <3 <3
