Hi Everyone

Still around Cynthia...been having trouble with my modem it stays on for a while then goes offline .
It is 6years old so went out and bought a new one it seems to be working fine now.

I have my baby Sister and her hubby coming for a holiday in OZ on the 28th of march so very much looking forward to seeing he again ...last time was two years ago.
I think she is coming to get warm but she will soon get sick of the heat ,I can't wait for Winter to get here .

I am changing my Computer room around today so I can give everything a good clean out...dust everywhere and where my feet go under my computer desk the carpet needs a wash.

Another heat wave has just finished with another on the way ,they have promised us a bit of rain on Sunday but put that with 30 c and it is not nice.

Roll on April ...May when our seasons start to change .

Hope you all had a great Valentines Day as usual I did not get anything after 43 years of Marriage my OH thinks its silly but I would not of minded a card :-|

Love to you all <3 <3 <3

To Misquote Mark Twain
"Rumours of my disappearance have been greatly exaggerated"

Sorry to disappoint a few of you

Cynthia - we posted around the same time

Been down to the Outlaws again - come back home for a rest - spent nearly an hour deciding where to go to eat lunch -

Where would you like to go - we don’t mind

How about - Yes that’s fine

We could always go to **** - whatever you want

Well lets go to - yes great lets go - mind you the reposts have been a bit off -

and so on for the next few mins

Ok lets go to ****** - no we will try ********* - ok so we get ready to go & she changed her mind again - so we went to the first place

Which serves very large helpings - far too much for me - so I ordered 2 starters - and that was wrong - Dont you like the food - whats wrong with the place - should have said I didn't like it - we should have gone somewhere else aaaaaaagh

Then they held a post-mortem on the food they had - so much easier I thought to go with the flow - obviously not as it turned out

My M -in L is a feeder - I don’t eat a lot - not that you would think that if you saw me

According to Weightwatchers "I don’t eat enough to lose weight" "You have to eat a lot more than that if you want to lose weight - how do you expect to exist on that small amount of food"

So I will just stay rolling around eating little & not very often

We have had a lovely few days here - cold but sunny - we need some of your warmth Sue

Reece - hope you are feeling better & you get a moving day soon

Josie - how is the work situation?

Arthur - have the kittens learnt any more naughty ways

Sylvia - are you feeling better

Sue - have fun with your family when they arrive - are you still planning a trip over here?

Sally - hope you are getting out & about in the sunshine

Evelyn & Robert - hope you are keeping well

Apologies if I missed someone

Oh Cynthia - just to let you know - our Great nephew who we thought had slight Aspergers & the school teams thought he just had Occasional slight difficulties - well now he is nearly 16 they have come to the conclusion - he has full on Aspergers - which is what his mum & Grandma (retired primary school head) have been saying for years.

Does make you wonder what symptoms he had to have then to get the help he needed earlier.

Oh well - its a funny old world

Take care all

Visited friends recently who have two cats. Took the kittens to see them.

My two were into everything and really enjoyed themselves. My friends' two cats hid behind the settee and would not come out. Shows how well socialised mine are - I owe a great debt of gratitude to the veterinary nurse who hand reared them.

At my friends' suggestion I have bought two leads to enable me to take the kittens into the garden. They are so fast and inquisitive I would be frightened of losing them. Only problem is - how to get them to stay still to put the leads on. I will persevere.

Hello everyone :-D

I've been busy playing around with my new FTM 2011. I can't believe how much things have changed since the 2005 version which I originally had. My word, a few clicks and my trees on Ancestry were load on to the FTM complete with all the records etc.....wonderful stuff. I'm still trying to get used to all the facilities though.

Sue.......I can't wait for the seasons to change either.....to Spring and some much needed warmth :-D :-D

Travelled over to Liverpool yesterday to take OH to see his specialist. It all went well - just a minor tweak to his medication. Fortunately, he is still walking well and I encourage him to go on a stroll every day as long as the weather is fine. When it's horrible, we have a little treadmill which he can use. It's all to do with keeping his muscles flexible.

This afternoon he is going to the dentist......and tomorrow I am taking our grandson to the dentist......the fun never ends. ;-)

Arthur, you've certainly got your hands full with those two kittens - they must be keeping you fit!

Anne - how interesting about your gt.nephew!! The trouble is, so many schools/teachers think they 'know' all about autism because they have 'been on a course'.

Sadly, many so-called 'professionals' are not as clued up as one would hope either. It's one thing working with autism.....it's another thing living with it. More notice should be taken of those who live with the condition I think.

I must say though, our town is shortly to launch a new 'pathway' re the diagnosis of autism in adults which I am really delighted about. My GP reckons that much of the work being done on autism in this area is due to my 'nagging'. I can nag for England when I have to.... :-D :-D

Hope everyone is keeping well - thank goodness that winter is nearly over (sorry Sue).......

Love to all Cx <3 <3

Did anyone catch WDYTYA US - Martin Sheen on Tuesday evening. I recorded it and watched it today.

Excellent programme and interesting to see the family details of an American whose background was Sanish and Irish only one generation back.

Astonishing what details are available if you have someone to help you look. The Spanish thread was particularly interesting and went back to the early 1700s

I am sure it is a repeat but I missed the series first time round.

Tabitha Report 22 Feb 2013 13:33

I loved it too Arthur - a lot better than some of ours were this year - I found it very interesting

I missed the "Meet the Izzards" hopefully they will repeat it

Looking forward to the rest of the US series now ;-) ;-) ;-) ;-)

Some good news for a change.

I was due to have a biopsy under general anaesthetic this coming Tuesday.

As a diabetic I have 6 monthly blood tests and this includes a check on my PSA.

Last September the PSA had increased - not a high number, but the locum wanted to be sure and referred me back to the consultant. He recommended a biopsy - my choice of simple or under general anaesthetic. Had pre-op in December, but the letter advising op on Jan 24th did not arrive.

Had my Feb diabetic check up, but no PSA result. Had blood taken on Tuesday and result on Friday showed a significant drop in the PSA reading. Appointment to see GP was no problem - 30 minutes after phone call. GP said he saw no reason for a biopsy and my PSA should be monitored every 3 months.

Very relieved indeed.

Now I can concentrate on getting the kittens speyed - their pre-op assessment is tomorrow night.

Good news indeed Arthur.......very pleased for you.... :-)

Have been sidetracked a bit this last week - what with FTM and a couple of contentious threads on Chat..........hopefully, normal service will be resumed shortly :-D

I love Spring Anne.....it's my favourite season. I've decided to try and do more walking during the good weather just to appreciate the natural beauty around me. I live in a lovely area so I should make the most of it. :-D :-D

Took my grandson to the dentist and he was absolutely great despite the fact that he had four injections in his mouth and 2 teeth extracted!! :-0

They were removed on advice from the orthodontist and one of them was a back molar - a real whopper. The dentist looked as though he was unscrewing it from his head.......arrrggghhh. I was so proud of my grandson - not a whimper - just took it all in his stride.....bless.

I think we've got to get around to having our double glazing replaced - so must go and see what the situation is costwise.....I guess it won't be cheap :-(

Love to all.....Cx... <3

I think we may have to change the name of the thread - to the Hibernation one.

What is going on out there - have you all found shells like Robert or has the Spring weather got you all out & about

I know Cynthia is looking for Double Glazing - and that can be a big expense

Sally is probably out gallivanting with her club

Arthur is very occupied with the Kittens & Robert still sheltering in his shell

Sue has the baby to look after

Sylvia & Evelyn have vanish & Reece is busy packing

Josie is busy with work

I am here working away on last min holiday bookings for Easter - Everyone seems to want to do a last min holiday

If anyone wants to join me in a game of hunt the person - feel free

Its lonely on your own - I keep finding the same person (me) & I am running out of places to hide that I dont know about -

They are coming to take me away ha ha

Take care all - seem to have lost all the little thingies - no smiley faces

Cynthia

I had excellent service from D G Solutions for my double glazing. The windows were excellent, to the latest security level and at a very good price.

Their website is under review. Their email is [email protected]

The windows are guaranteed for 10 years

Shortly going to collect the kittens after their operation - fingers crossed.

Nikki, who hand reared them, visited on Monday. She was amazed at their growth and delighted to see what wonderful cats they have become. She told me about their traumatic entry into the world and how lucky thet were to be alive.
The mother was a burmese cat and belonged to a woman who doted on her - the husband really did not need to do anything with the cat. The woman fell seriously ill, and neither she nor her husband noticed the cat was preganant. The 6 kittens were born under the stairs and it was fortunate the husband heard a noise and investigated. Sadly by the time he reached the PDSA hospital the mother had died from calcium deficiency.

Nikki, who hand reared for the last three weks before rehoming, noticed that the two I have had 'paired off' and was determined they should go together to a new home - lucky me. She thought mine were the best of the bunch - of the remainder, the male is as mischievious as my Nikki, the female who went with him is not terribly energetic or interesting, the remaining female was a bully (and still is). Nothing is known of the father, but all kittens are black with white bibs and white feet.

The surgery has just rung to say I can collect them at 1800 - both are fine..

Hi Sue

and everyone

Not much happening here, yet I seem to have been busy, and hence not posting.

We had a lovely 2 days of sun and warm temperatures last week, and another 2 days Sunday/Monday this week. All intervening days were Rain :-(

Arthur ....................... those kittens certainly did have a bad start to life. But you're doing them proud now!!!

Hope they recover well form their operations.

Take care, everyone

Collected kittens at 1800. Nikki had been fitted with a collar as she had been chewing the wound area. They said to keep it on until I take them next Wednesday for the final check up.
On the way home she managed to remove the collar, and all attempts to fit it have proved futile.
Both had some chicken - my planned dinner, and Nikki very soon after climbed to her favourite place on top of my disply cabinet, where she slept for several hours. Came down quickly when I gave them some dry food.
This morning both back to normal as if nothing had happened. wish we could recover as quickly.

I visited Kazakhstan on holiday last year to look at plants. I am giving a talk to a local group next Tuesday, so will be missing from this thread until Wednesday as it takes time to prepare. fortunately, the person who organised our trip - it was an outstanding holiday - has sent me 2 CDs with here images to supplement my own. She took many of us in traditional pose - bottoms up - and many at picnics and restaurants. People really enjoy having something other than flowers.

Signing off for some hard, but pleasant work.
