Thanks so much Barbara, but this is a mystery..lol
If this Richard is John Norwoods father marrying in 1844, I wonder if this is a second marriage as the eldest son was born 1828 and there is a big age gap between Richard and Mary in 1841. mmm will have to think on this one !
I also found John Norwood in 1851 aged 20 with a wife Ann ! living next door to father Richard. So looks like he may have been married twice too. I cant find a marriage for John Norwood and an Ann, or a death for Ann. But he married Jane Brown in 1855
Oh I love a mystery..
Thanks again
Maggie Edited to say I have just reread your marriage for Richard and it says he was a widower, so that fits then, a second marriage, mystery over..lol

Can't find a marriage for Ann and John OR a death for Ann from 1851 to 1855 when (we think if its the right marriage) married Jane ?????
EDIT --Sorry Maggie didn't see your responces before I posted to you, On johns marriage to Jane Brown he is a "Blacksmith" but on everything else he is Boiler maker --have we got the right Marriage ?? Dads name and occ fit--Johns age fits --HELP !! LOL
It does say John is a BATCHELOR on his marriage to Jane.

Hi, I can't find another marriage in the right place or time frame for John Norwood, it MUST be him. Maybe he had a go as a blacksmith..lol. But still doesn't explain this Ann in 1851 though.
I found this birth for Jane Norwood, so I think I had better send for the cert to see who her mother is, hope it is the right one ! Births Mar 1861 (>99%) NORWOOD Jane Ann Stepney 1c 481

Yes Maggie. that one looks ok to me --but I can't understand why she didn't use Jane Ann in other things-- but it does look like the right one to me.
