Alice Roath was therefore born Inwood but also used her stepfather's name of Yapp. |

I cant find a Jess* R Yapp/Roath/Inwood birth at all for c1882,also I cant understand where Alice E Roath came from on 1891 census, she is clearly age 13 on image ,the same as Harry, but not his twin and no birth to correspond for her? |

There is a story told by my granma that Alice Yapp was in service and the young master 'got her into trouble'. The child she had was Harry Yapp who called himself Roath, but was buried as Harry Yapp. |

Until I got Leah's birth cert I wondered if there were two ALice's, but the time scale indicates they are the same one. |

Then I don't understand where the name Inwood comes from. |

That's interesting Glitter baby, as the name was given as ROAF on one census. |

It just seems stange that her former name is given as Yapp and Inwood on two different certificates. Perhaps she just lived with Harry Yapp's father when he was born and when she married George Roath her son Harry took his step-father's name. Perhaps your grandfather wasn't as happy with this as everyone else. |

I'd be inclined to buy the birth certificate for Harry Yapp born 1877 just to see who his mother is. |
