Re: how did I find Thomas Easton. I just searched for any Eastons in Abergavenny both in Ancestry & FreeBMD.

However it's still not finding Harriet.

I was looking for family members as you say - but I suspect this might be a dead end.

The 1871 was obtained by specifying all details except surname - I suspect Chrissie did something similar, and also on freebmd.

With regard to finding that name in 1871, I simply searched for Harriet (no surname) born 1857 in Llanover and just searched through the results.
