The marriage cert you have is on Ancestry. Found a Alexander Wm. Bridger that married Emma Louisa Austin in 1874 but his father was Alexander so unless the fathers are brothers no joythere. Irene ps someone has a Henry Charles in their tree born 1826 Deal. Kent with father John but no other details to link. Irene |

Found this family in 1851 (The Emma Louisa Bridger whose marriage I found - she has a daughter called Emma who could be your witness if she was born before her parent's marriage and used her birth name. I know I'm clutching at straws here!!) The family are mistranscribed as Seales:- |

Good find though - the other Emma could be named after her. |

There is this birth and marriage on the IGI but it is submitted after 1991 by a member of the church so would need careful checking but at least it's the same name as the witness:- |

The Henry Bridger born in Portsea is on the 1851 census but his father is called William. |

Scraping the barrel now, but what's the betting that this little one is connected to "our" Emma Louisa? |

Have you found him on the 1861 census for some clues? |

Just checked where Portsea was/is and it is Portsmouth - wondering whether to get the certificate to see whether it is him as if he was a seaman, perhaps it could be the right one maybe |
