Anybody ever come across this address while looking in familysearch.org. ? I have many a time but wouldn`t have dreamed of clicking on it; now however, have found out it has very important Data in it. Did you know it held "The Protestant Dissenter`s Register" from 1743-1837 people(Rep. Baptists,Congregationalistsand Presbyterians) were required to register their childrens births there. To start with only in a 12 mile radius and later open to anyone for a fee.I was amazed and have found two or three of my ancestors from Suffolk reg. there.I paid to see the records at the National archives which is how I found this piece of info. and with parents and grandparents in some cases also named so a great bonus. Hope it will help someone else as it did me. |
