I thought it was clear from my post I was talking abt the image you all found before. I was just pointing out how anyone could view the image.

I'ld agree with Nadine - it's hard to confuse a 6m old infant girl with a 3m old one.

Thanks to everyone who has looked, i have looked on canadian census but cannot find them living where they said hamilton, ontario. Begining to think that some of the story we been told made. again my mum sure got the correct esther robinson.

Does the address on the birth cert match the address for Esther in 1911?

That Esther was born in Ipswich.

Just a couple of points:

The Esther in Ipswich in 1911 was cook as was the Esther in the passenger list:

First names ESTHER
Last names ROBINSON
Occupation COOK
County Suffolk
District Ipswich

A birth registration in 1st quarter 1912 could have been for a birth in Dec 1911 which would be about right for a 6 month old baby in May,

Hi Everyone

Well after going back to mum and getting grandma birth cert we did have the wrong Esther. So it means my grandma was born out of wedlock they did go to canada (thanks choccy) but we still none the wiser regarding edward cundall vet surgeon deceased, being on named on her marriage cert but not birth cert, possibly to save face !!!. i checked his records with RCVS they have no trace of either cundall/robinson.

He maybe a red herring.

Nadine,

You really must purchase credits for the 1911 census and look at the Edward Cundall and Esther Robinson I posted earlier. They are both in an Institution and I suspect this is a workhouse.

You PMed me and said Myrtle was born at 222 Wherstead Rd. Well, Ipswich Union was on that road too.

Nadine,

So what's the address for Elizabeth and Edward in 1911 in Ipswich? They are listed as being in an "Institution" and not a household.

Have you looked to see who was at 222?

Ipswich Union is another name for the workhouse and would be classed as an Institution.

I found a relative in an " institution" on the 1911 census. It was only a lodging house

Hi, found both Esther and edward at the same place, ipswich workhouse, in 1911, my grandma was born 1912. She always maintain her father was edward cundall from pocklington york. so i am sure we have found our connection at long last, thanks to everyone for all your help.

Would of been quicker if my mum had the correct Esther in first place.

Great! The census was taken about a month before Myrtle was conceived.

Was she listed as a cook?

You really need to take family stories with a pinch of salt. They can lead you up the garden path.

Looks like Esther had 4 sisters: Beatrice and Nellie May are both single in Ipswich in 1911. Need to check out Clara and Lucy.
