i have been looking for where my irish ancestors came from for ages and thanks to the 1911 census my great grandfather finally put Killbennan Co Galway as his place of birth instead of just Ireland as in all the other census. he was born c1848
i have his marriage cert and he married in 1872 in farnworth bolton and on the cert it states that patrick oneill's father was also named patrick oneill occupation farmer ireland.
i have tried to find a patrick oneill on the griffiths valuation but didnt know where to start as i had no idea as to which part of ireland to look at but now i have killbannen co galway i have come accross these and wondered if anyone could tell me how i could find out more info or where to go next

thanks linda
