Thanks For this. I Have located the card on Ancestry but have been unable to find a death for him. Do you think its possible he died in the war hence the reason i cant find his death record? |

I cannot explain it all but 12299 would be his service number,GNR (gunner) would be his rank which is a private, 387th Siege Batty, what part of his regiment he is in, For infantry it would be eg.A Company but Artillery have battery's, RGA would be Royal Garrison Artillery, which is his regiment |

Can Anyone make sense of this information i have been given and what to do with it. i'm guessing its somethin to do with the war. |
