Confusion over parentage

Kath, does that mean there is no surname recorded then? It's difficult because some people revert to maiden name and some don't. Is there any rule on marriages and surnames for women do you know? |

The 2nd marriage should be in the name of Cissie Stevens and as Gwendoline was born 1929 with father Colin Stevens the Edward Porter marriage must be after 1929. |

When Cissie King married Colin J. Stevens in 1915 her name is recorded as just Cissie, so that's what she should be called for any further marriage. |

Thought your first reference was right but Porter would have married Stevens or did people revert to their maiden names?? My dilema because I thought the first was right for Porter. |
