BMD Quarters Appearing to be Missing on Ancestry

Sometimes if you are searching for a BMD ref on Ancestry and you are looking at a number of years, it can seem as if a quarter is missing. This is because of the way that the pages are indexed on Ancestry. If the last entry on a page is e.g. Brown, John, but there is also an omission added e.g. Brown, Albert, Ancestry will mark the last entry on the page as Brown, Albert and not Brown, John. This means if you are searching for Brown, Charles it will appear as if this quarter is missing. If this happens, try to look at the previous / next page and then click on next or previous to find the one you are looking for. |
