Take it one step at a time Kirsty. I know it's difficult but wait for that marriage cert to arrive to check dad's name and then go from there. Don't rush things. |

Oh, I presumed it would be a more certain way to order both certificate's as I struggling to find a record of my Nan and Grandad's marriage, hence my asking for help! |

When you receive the marriage cert, and find out the father's name, you will be able to look for his marriage to the mother. That will identify the mother........... |

Oh sorry, what I meant was there was a 9 year difference in between their first born (Hilda) and last born (Irene). |

We still dont know who you are descended from Hilda,Howard? or Edith |

If Lillian was the youngest by 9 years then the birth found by Eric for a Howard in 1911 confuses even further. |

You may have to look for an even earlier marriage for Spooner/ Johnson. My grandmother had a sibling 26 years older than her. |

Edith, Howard and Hilda were my Great Aunt's siblings. |

What was the name of the grandparent who was your aunt's sibling? |

Ok so I have a Spooner marrying in 1901 but how do I know if that's the one?! there is no recording of the woman's name at that time. Is it just a case of ordering the certificate and hoping?! |
