Re marr witnesses. It's not unusual to find (sort of) professional witnesses - check the other marrs of this year and see if either of yours reappears several times. |

I agree with Jill. It seems that John and Ann had six children that I can see. Their names and those of their children could supply the names of the grandparents. |

I would want to see a copy of the original marriage entry of John to Ann Eden in the hope that the witness names might help, or there might be some other snippet of information in the register. |

I don't believe so, the trouble is in census entries he is mistranscribed as Marsden, on his death certificate he is shown as John Mausten. |
