Thank you Mike, you worked that magic again, i now have to work out which is the right marriage.

My William Underwood was born in Thorpe Satchville 1799, so not much help.

Can i be a pain and ask who the the witnesses to both marriages were, to see if it will help please?

That's great, Mike, thanks very much. I see you got your computer fixed :-)

Now wondering why my great-grandmother Mary North died in Justice Street, when she and her husband lived in Wharf Street.

I've never found a burial for her, either in Rothley where they lived previously (she's not on the County burial disc) or at Welford Road.

Would St. Peter's Belgrave be a likely spot for a burial in 1879? There's an online index of tombstone inscriptions for St. Peter's, but her name isn't included.

Thanks again,
Mary

Hi all,

Does anyone happen to know where Justice Street, Belgrave, was?

I can't find it on a current Leicester map, and it's not on the online list of old Leicester street names.

An ancestor of mine died there in 1879.

Has anyone been able to find anything about Ann Arnold who married Thomas Smith in 1844. I think Ann's father's name is also Thomas

Yes it will be good to see Mike's name again. I think he has helped everyone at some time. I'm sometimes out of UK for several weeks at a time but when I'm back, it seems Mike is holding everything (everyone?) together.

Good news...... and bad!!

The Good News - Mike is alive and kicking and serving in the Scout shop when I spoke to him and says "you can stop passing the hat round for the floral tributes" cos he'll be back!! He thanks you all for your concern!!

The Bad News - He's been having pooter problems and altho he could get onto some sites, he couldn't get onto Genes - and even the ones he could get on to sometimes it was only for a few seconds!! (He wasn't ignoring us - honest!!).

Hopefully his problems are on the way to being sorted and if he doesn't get on tonight, will hopefully be back with a vengeance once the weekend is over!!

We look forward to seeing you soon Mike!!

Hi Mike

Haven't spoke to you for a while, hope you are well?

I'm looking for a John Sutton born c1786 in either Oakthorpe or Donisthorpe. He married Elizabeth Pegg in Burbage in 1804 but she died before 1841 so have no idea where she was born.

Do you have these records on disc please?

Thanks
Tracey

Hi any Rodwell connections. Looking for Ann Arnold who married Thomas Smith of Knighton in June 1/4 1844, Blaby district (have sent for this cert) Their daughter Emma b. 1845 ?? married John Rodwell b 1834 - my line.

I think Ann had a daughter Ann before marrying Thomas, and then two sons, Isaac and Edward, as well as Emma, with Thomas.

I think Ann's father's name is Thomas, but not too sure about her mother. I think she is born in Billesdon district.

Can anyone help?
Pamela
