Hi Derek, thank you so much for finding that out for me, can i ask you what records you are using for this information?

And do you have any suggestions as to what i can do know to find out if this is the right John H Dickman, i was told had to go to matlock, but maybe if the family is from Hickling i would need to find the records in Nottingham?
So sorry for all the questions but like i said, never done this before. I already have to make a trip to Wigston for my dads tree, we've got that back to 1806 so far and am now stuck with that too!

Thanks again Derek
Nikki

Hi Nikki..this could get a bit complicated..but this game is all about keeping a clear head and only accepting what you know to be FACT....I can't help you with anything post 1901..for which you will need FreeBMD.....but I can tell you that:-
John H Dickman was bor 1879 Hickling Notts..son of Charles and Ann..had a brother Robert 1877 and teo sisters Jessie 1886 and Lily 1889.

Father Charles Dicklman had a brother John Hickman born Hickling 1857..who married an Elizabeth from Sheffield.and moved away to Bierlow near Sheffiled..by 1881 they has one son Charles W b 1880

There is another John Dickman from Hickling..but hsve not joined himn up with anyone.........

Hi Derek, thanks for that, the info i have is that John Henry Dickman was born around 1879 in Hickling Notts, he married Emily Mary ?? (we think smith but not sure) in approx oct, nov or dec 1905, she was also born around 1879 in derby. they had 3 kids, Alfred, John and Lucy they lived in Roe St Derby at the time of the 1911 census.
thats all i have at the moment, not sure where to go now, think i need to find my grandads (Alfred) birth certificate for the maiden name of his mum, don't even have any dates for when any of them died!

Hope this helps a bit!
Thanks again
Nikki

I'm trying to track down John Henry Dickman, born c1879 lived in Roe Street Derby at the time of the 1911 census. Trying to find birth details to find out his parents and no idea what i'm doing lol.

Hi Derek

Me again. I have given up on Needhams. My pal in Glossop has found a lot. But he has not found the baptism of Joseph Goddard about 1745 son of William Goddard, Vicar of Glossop, and Elizabeth. though he has found baptisms of other children. Following on from that that I need a marriage of Joseph Goddard to somebody, also in Glossop, around 1765, to anybody. He has found a birth of Betty Goddard in 1767, daugher of Joseph. I need to know who Joseph married.

Thanks

Margaret

Any help appreciated.

Hi Derek
I posted on here a few months ago, asking if you would look for a Carolina Boswell christening for me. I now know she was christened in Castle Donnington, but still can't find it. Would you please look once again for me. Also I can't find her in the 1881 census. I have her in all the other ones. She was a romany gypsy.
Thanks Linda S

Hi Gooner.........The baptisms for 1785 backwards are virtually unreadable..certainly to me.. except Gibert born 1777, 02.02.1777 born of WILLIAM and ANNE but i couldn't see any others
So I went to the marriages of meashams at repton prior to 1777..back to 1772 in fact..........

Gilbert Measham m Elizabeth Stanley 12.05.1772

nothin more before 1778:

John measham m Hannah hodgkison 16.05.1778
William Measham m Elizabeth Mowbray 05.10.1779
Thomas Measham m Mary Sophia Huthwait 03.02.1788
Richard Measham m Dorothy m Dorothy Marshall 04.09.1799

and......(probably your Gilbert) Measham m Mary meakin 05.10.1801

Sorry i couldn't do better
