Hi Margaret..sorry to keep you waiting....

JOHN TWIGG married JUDITH SLEIGH 29.06.1785
I think you can assume all the children were theirs. The first:
JOSEPH 23.11.1800....shows only John....but that means nothing because the early baptisms only showed one parent.

You might like to know that MARY 14.01.1803 was the seconf child of that name born to Judith and John......the first Mary was baptised 08.07.1792 but died a few months old and was buried 10.03.1793

Can confirm BENJAMIN 27.10.1805..and one you don't have!...SAMUEL 18.02.1787..their first child. I've a feeling.unconfirmed that he also died young....because the family moved from Sterndale to Cronkstone, where the later children were born.
Just found WILLIAM 30.08.1789...the first child born Cronkstone
Worth waiting for?? lolol

Derek.

Hi Derek,

I noticed that you went to Matlock Records Office after your message for me dated 18 Jan.

Have you found anything about John Waters and Hannah Sturland?

Derek

It's me again! Here's a new one for you please, as I am now reseaching tree of my daughter's intended husband - just need to check him out a bit first!

According to IGI, John Twigg had 3 chidlren christened at Earl Sterndale - Joseph 23/11/1800, Mary 14/1/1803 and Benjamin 27/10/1805. The latter two have mother Judith. Can you find a likely marriage of John Twigg and a Judith?

Many thanks

Margaret

Hi Derek I think you may well be right with my dreaded family lol. I cannot get some of the names to link wher I am almost positive they should.

Bloomin hard work indeed. A thoroughly boring game til the last shoot out. I actually almost nodded off while it was on.

Hi nikki..Nottingham Archives do have parish records for the Hickling Bingham area...............and although I would have to go there to confirm any details...I am reliably told that the Dickmans of hickling were all related in some way or another.

"John H Dickman was bor 1879 Hickling Notts..son of Charles and Ann..had a brother Robert 1877 and teo sisters Jessie 1886 and Lily 1889."

Hi Derek, just a quick update, i have now been to visit my mums very elderly aunt and she has confirmed that she remembers an Aunt Jessie and Aunt Lily from Hickling but has no memory of Robert so it looks like these are the right Dickmans!!

Thanks so much for your help!

Hi Nikki..I found your Dickmans on the census records 1881-1901....Hickling is very close to where i live, but I don't have Notts Records.......There is a Nottinghamshire Archives Office in nottingham..I'll give htme a ring and ask them what sort of records they hold...and get back to you
