i have death cert of my aunt who died in 1891 age 5yrs old it has the address were died ,33 Great Goram street,would that be the hospital,and how do i find out were shes buried,thank you for any help given

1st thing to do is....find out where Great Goram Street was/is. (Town/County)

Then look for local Churches.....

33 Great Goram Street doesnt sound like a Hospital..

You could ask in the local Library?

when I googled Great Goram Street -
it asked me if I meant Great Ormand Street!

Think it may be Great Coram Street which is near Russel Square Bloomsbury

I have just looked in my 1930's streetmap and there isn't a Great Goram Street. I can't say that there mightn't have been one in existance earlier though but I would have thought it likely as it is a fairly old part of London.
I bet it was Great Ormond Street Childrens Hospital. This falls within the correct area. Was the informant a Doctor or Nurse? If it was then it was more than likely to be a hospital. (However, I do have death certificates where they died in hospital but a relative was the informant)

informant was her mother who wa in attendance,she died of whooping cough and meningitis,but theres story behind this ,as the mother who was the informant was in fact her grandmother but the grandmother is also down on the birth cert as being the little ones mum when in fact it was the daughter who had the baby,but her father was church beadle so i think that says it all

At that time the address given may not be precise.

If, for some reason, the informant didn't want it known to all and sundry that the person died in a hospital, or some form of institution, then there was nothing to stop them giving just the address and not mentioning the building's function.

This would more likely occur where a member of family was registering a death rather than a member of staff of the 'institution'

I have a couple of death certificates registered by relatives that refrain from mentioning the subject died in the workhouse infirmary and just give the address. In each case the subject was only there for the medical expertise and not because the family had deserted them.

the thing that puzzles me she was living with her mum and not the grandmother in 1891 and the grandfather was dead,he was church beadle at Christ hospital,i get so confused over this
