Sorry Eric couldn't resist that one but I do agree with you entirely, I also hate text speak and mobile phones in general. When I'm in, I'm in, when I'm out there's an answering machine but I do carry one in the car should I ever get stuck. I only use it for an alarm clock if I have to stay out overnight. I put £10 a time in it and it lasts me about 6 months. Ron www.genealogyprinters.com

	A liitle bit of punctuation helps too !!! It's tough trying to read somone's request, if it looks like a stream of consciousness and there is no separation of names, dates etc etc. I always like to help but sometimes I can't even work out the question !!

	I use Vodafone pay as you go and £10 lasts me well over 6 months. I don't think there is a limit to how long you can have the credit. I have never lost my credits and I think I have only topped up once this year. Kath. x

	Please check your mobile provider's terms and conditions. Most need you to make 1 chargeable call every 6 months in order to stay 'live on the network'. You don't and they have the right to disconnect your mobile and pocket your balance...not fair but legal

	Checked my last message/call sent and it was just less than 6 months ago. So I have sent a text to OH saying... 'Just checking' To make sure I don't lose credits! Chris

	Vodafone every three months? oh when I worked for them it was every 6 months...shows that you need to keep checking in case the companies 'tweak' their T&C's

	I agree. There's no need to use text speak here. We're not being charged for the number of letters we use. This will probably fall on deaf ears though as the offenders probably won't be reading this thread. Rose

	Couldn't agree more! I do use my mobile to text but always use 'proper' English along with the correct punctuation. English is a beautiful language so why spoil it? I may be boring but so what??
