Just had copy of a 1854 Marriage Certificate, most of which I cant read and worse still Bride & Grooms ages are not indicated. Think the Grooms says "Senior" and some scribble in the brides which I cant decipher was this normal practice at that time? Any help would be appreciated. |

It was quite common at that time for no age to be given, just ..' full '..or ' minor ' |

Gwyneth, your a star. Bride and father, same surname but she signed with an "X" She Hannah Burton married William Molyneux 26/2/1854. Witnesses were Samuel Edwards and Ann Hurst who also signed "x" I've got Hannah and William in 1891 &1901 census but not before. Be interesting to see if you can track back for me. |

May be worth checking out for William's dad, Thomas. He is a cordwainer (shoemaker). If this right, then William has 2 siblings here: |

Thank you Blossom, think you've cracked it. Never reckoned on the spelling. Also appreciate the efforts and willingness from Gwyn, Yummymummy, and Jim. Now I know what this site is for, hope I can be of assistance in future. |
