Hi Paul - it seems that they went to Melbourne. So - as they went to Melbourne -you'll now need to contact the 'Victoria State Library' - (query form on-line). ......I couldn't see any record of Bessie's or Leslie's death in the Melbourne cemeteries - so hopefully you will find them ok. .....Valerie |

The story was that my gran was going out shopping. Taking my father with her. But my aunt was not well..so stayed at home...During the shopping trip, there was an air raid. In returning to the house, my gran found the house took a direct hit from a bomb..possibly a V1.. |

Yes...I had looked for a death during the war years to co-inside with the story of an aunt killed in an air raid in ww2. But didn't find any reference to a Bessie Wilson dying in ww2. |

Hi Paul, I've just found this (National Archives Aust) CARR Leslie Alexander b 24/8/1926 -Bessie Emma (nee Wilson) b 8/2/1927 -Stanley James b 23/4/49 -Christina Gwen b5/10/50 - Richard Alexander b16/5/52 - Melvin Leslie b 3/10/53 Caroline Florence27/7/56 dep Tilbury on 'Orontes' 5/10/1960. ......... You could contact the NSW State Library (on-line) to check the electoral rolls for them. ....There is 1 'LA Carr' in(NSW) phone book -several 'RA's and 'SJ's & 1 'ML'. ....Hopefully you wlll find them in NSW -otherwise contact other State Libraries. ......(couldn't see their deaths in several States).......Valerie (W Aus) |
