I know this MARSALA's parents came from Ireland but I just never heard the name before and wondered if it was a common name in Ireland and maybe the parents had called her after a parent or relative..

I don't know any Gaelic except Ciamar a tha thu, I do remember having to sing songs in Gaelic at school, we did it parrot fashion, we didn't even know what we were singing about.

Marsella sounds more like it, I knew a girl at school called Marcelle, which I always thought sounded a bit French.

Marsala is known to me to be a wine used for making
an Italien dessert called TIRAMISU . Wonder if the christian name originates from Italy. Happy hunting says Sandra / Germany
