I don't live in area, so I will do as you suggested and order first but get GRO to check parents names.

After lots of research I found that my grandparents (who I hadn't seen since 1960) had lived (and died) in Loch Lomond. I visited Luss, the place they'd lived, which was absolutely beautiful.

Once I have definite details on GG Gps, I am hoping to visit the area they lived. So, thanks again. I will keep you updated, once I've received all certs.

If it were me Toni I woyld order the first one I posted but ask that they check the Fathers name is William & mothers name is Jane.

If the parents names are wrong you get some of your money refunded.

If you live in the area it might be orth going the the reg office yourself to check before you buy then it will cost you nothing at all.

Looking for a marriage for Thomas's parents William & Jane there are lots in Northumberland but nothing thats jumping out at me as being the right area they mostly seem to be on the East side so you will have to wait till you have thomas's birth cert to find out his mothers maiden name.

I've just got a copy of my family on the 1911, the only part obscured was the very end column (on the right).

Its not very often anything is recorded in this column but I have seen things like "deaf" or "dumb since birth"
