Ok I am totally addicted but I've come to a complete blank and think I need some help please if you could be so kind to advise
I have found my gg grandfather in the 1901 census whose name was Albert James Gregory (aged 27) and also his wife (24) named Rosina who was born in Bournemouth. The census lists names of my great aunts and uncles but not my granddad as hw wasnt born until years later
My grandad died in 1984 and as I know he was young when his parents died and I feel the urge to find out where I come from and to pay my respects to them and getting to try to 'know' them (if this makes sense?)
I thought I would be able to at least find a death or marriage certificate of Albert Gregory and his wife Rosina and I cant find anything...no marriage, death etc?
Where am I going wrong?
I know that his place of birth was Radstock and my gg grans was Bournemouth and that the time of the census were living at 12 Bush House, Rhondda , Glamorganshire
Any advice please? With thanks Cath

There is also this possible.
She is listed as Rose but the registration area includes Rhondda.
Does it fit in with the births of children?

Catherine
Sorry I went offline.
I found the marriage on FreeBMD www.freebmd.org
I used the following in the marriage search
Surname Greg* First names Alb* Spouse first name Ros* Date range Mar 1880 to (left blank)
That threw up 3 marriages before 1901. Then looking at the ages and place of birth for the children the Pontypridd looked the most likely.

I think this must be Albert Gregory in 1881. The birthplace is very close to Radstock.

Thanks everybody for that, muchly appreciated...really pleased
Does anyone know why the address are different for the same household? or am I reading it wrong?
Is the address 3 Duck Lane and the addresses after their names where they were born?
I've got a few shivers going down my spine as new names , dates and possibilities come along - My husband is pouting as Ive been on here for 2 days solid and ignoring him! ;o)

I wonder why the nephew is living with this pair?

Here is the marriage of aunt and uncle.
Marriages Dec 1866 COTTLE John Clutton 5c 1065 GREGORY Eliza Clutton 5c 1065
If you buy this marriage certificate it will tell you Eliza's father who is presumably the grandfather of Albert.

To order any certificate, go to www.gro.gov.uk, click on Ordering Certiifcates Online, follow instructions.
When asked if you have the GRO reference number say YES ....... it is the set of 2 numbers that follow the place of registration (ie, at the right side of the line).
Each certificate will cost £7
You can also order certificates from some registry office, although not all of them do that.
You can also order through freebmd ........ just scroll down below the registrations that you have found and there is "Has our search engine found the record you are seeking. Click here to learn what to do now."
NEVER pay more than £7 or at the most £8 for a certificate.
