Greeting’s again Sylvia.
St. Andrew’s Twyford cum Thorpe Satchville Leicestershire.
James. Son of Adam & Elizabeth Underwood. 20th August 1797.
Other sibling’s of Adam & Elizabeth :~ William. 19th. August. 1799. Joseph. 1st. February 1801.
Unfortunately due to the early dates Then the Parish Registers will only be " One Liners " and will not give us any other details to help identify James for sure ….like Father’s occupation. So I would not dismiss this for now ..... until we can prove otherwise.
MARRIAGE :~
Twyford - Cum - Thorpe Satchville Parish Church.
Adam Underwood of Loseby Parish.~ Elizabeth Phips. of this Parish. 4th. December. 1796. By Banns.

Hi Mike,
Could i have your opinion on this please.
Going through my paperwork this morning, on the 1851 census it says James Underwood was born in 1796 in Thorpe Satchville Leicestershire.
For some reason after looking at google maps, i decided that Twyford was a lot closer than Melton Mowbray.
Looking at Twyford on the IGI there is a James Underwood baptised in 1797.
Could this be my man? hes the only James on there.

Greeting’s again Elaine ……
Best get off that step now otherwise you’ll catch sum it………
Right....I read the “ Leicester Journal 1866. “ page 1. to back page Sorry no sign of the Inquest results on John Scotton aged 3 weeks. ….
Reading the headlines though……… I think it’s a very strong possibility That John fell a victim of the “ Cholera Epidemic” which was sweeping the County at the time….. So many deaths from this that there was a notice in the paper that due to the large amounts of people dying from Cholera. ……. For the time being……. There would be a bulleting posted on the door of the Infirmary daily with the names on it of those who had died. …Signed by the Chef Medical Officer. of the Infirmary. ……..

Thank you for that Mike, could you also possibly look for the baptism of James Underwood c1801 in Melton Mowbray please.
Sylvia
Adding to this as i may have found Isaac as he was born before the marriage of James and Ann , i looked under Cooper and found a baptism 14 March 1826, but it says parents are Thomas Cooper and Ann, now Thomas was Anns fathers name, is this possible please or have i got the wrong Isaac?

Greeting’s …….Sylvia
St. Mary’s Parish Church. Melton Mowbray.
BURIALS :~
UNDERWOOD Sarah 13.th. September. 1823 Aged.26
Therefore I would say that going on the dates we have to hand then Isaac is the Son of James & Ann née Cooper
Although like your good self I have yet to find Isaac’s Baptism to prove the above……
Maybe I’ll have a better idea once I’ve had a look around the Parish Registers held at the Records Office this coming week.
I see that on the 1841. Census William was working as an Ag. Lab. On a Farm in Neither Broughton Aged 20. Plus there is a Frances as an inmate in the Female Asylum The Newarke in the Borough of Leicester aged 15. ( ages were rounded DOWN to nearest multiple of 5 on this Census )

Hi Mike
Asking for you help to find the parents of Isaac Underwood born c1826 Melton Mowbray please
I have him with James and Ann Underwood married 1828, but have just found on IGI a possible first marriage for James with a Sarah Goodacre in 1818 and children William 1821and Frances 1822.
Am wondering if Issac was Sarahs son and when Sarah died, which could confirm or not James was married twice
Having trouble finding Isaac on IGI

Hi Mike
Re Thomas Noon and Mary Ann Smith..
I note on the marriage info of 1835, that a Martha Noone is a witness. I have found a chris entry , 2 May 1817 St Margarets ,on the IGI with parents of William and Elizabeth Noon. I also found 5 other children with parents William and Elizabeth Noon... Mary Noon..1810,William 1803,Jas Noon 1812 ( also found him on 1841 census as a shoeman, which ties in) John Noon 1805 and Elizabeth 1807. all of St Margarets.
Could there possibly be more info on Martha Noon (e), Please ?
Lots of Tks for your time... Karen of Brisbane

Thank you so much Mike that's excellent, more avenues to persue! Isn't it strange that Mary was baptised before being named.
Again they have changed the boundaries, on multimap Hemington is in Derbyshire. I have also seen a reference that has put Castle Donnington in Derbyshire.
Thank you again Caroline xx
