Hello Mike
While I am waiting for my Samuel Sanby death cert I wondered if you could help me again with my Hall family in Belton, Leicestershire.
Just to recap, my GG Grandfather William Hall was born 1829 in Belton, unfortunately you couldn’t find his baptism. His father was Charles b1799 and you found his burial on 29/6/1838. You then found William in the 1841 census and your thoughts were that he was with his grandparents Edward b 1775 and Mary Hall also in Belton.
I have found children for Edward and Mary on familysearch, Charles 1799, William 1803 James 1805, Mary 1806, Elizabeth Ann 1808, Sarah 1811 and George 1814. William and George are still with Edward and Mary in the 1841 census.
I have found Edward in the 1851 and 1861 census at Whitwick and he is described as a lodger living with Edward Hall b1801 Belton and his wife Mary. Do you think this is another son? Could you check the parish records for me as Edward b1801 does not show up on the familysearch site.
I have found a death registration for Edward Hall in 1866 at Loughborough Q4 7a 67. They have his birth year as 1786 instead of 1775. Can you check the parish burial records to see if he is buried in Whitwick?
I can find no record for the death of his wife Mary b c1777. In the 1861 census he is a widower, can’t read the 1851 it is too faint. Could you see if there is a death in the Belton parish records for her 1841-1851?
Hope all this makes sense!! Would be very grateful for any help please!
Thank you Caroline xx

Thank you Mike. As usual you have come up trumps!!
Could I ask for some more help please. Would you check the parish records for some marriages for me.
I have the following info from familysearch and I wondered if you could add any more info.
Edward Hall b1775, parents William Hall and Mary Bennet married 3/10/1763.
William Hall b 1742, parents Edward Hall and Mary Burrows married 28/4/1730.
Edward Hall b 1701, parents John Hall and Elizabeth.
All the Halls were born in Belton but I cannot see where any of their wives were born as too many choices and none of them Belton. Can't find where the last John Hall was born. Please could you see if you can find him in Belton. I have been very lucky so far that the Halls seem to have stayed in Belton but if John has come from somewhere else my luck has run out!!

Greeting’s again Kathleen.
I’ve had a whiz around using the resources to hand…..
ALL MARRIAGES checked out in both surnames.
As per your list :~
Apr. ~ May. ~ Jun. Qrt. 1903. John HULETT. ~ Hannah Hammond. LEICESTER. Cert No. 7a. 620.
Apr. ~ May. ~ Jun. Qrt. 1880. Joseph HULETT. ~ Ellen E. Baggett. LEICESTER. Cert, No. 7a. 385.
St. Margaret’s Parish Church. Leicester. Entry No.175, MAY 14, 1893, after Banns WILLIAM EDWARD FISHER, 23, Bachelor. ENGINEER, of LINCOLN, Son. of WILLIAM EDWARD FISHER, ENGINEER. ANNIE MARIA HULETT, 23, Spinster.. of 32, THAMES St, Daughter. of FRANCIS HULETT. MOULDER Wits: WILLIAM ADDY, ELIZABETH ASHTON.
Peter Smith. ~ Hannah Betts. 13th. Oct. 1833. St. Margaret’s Parish Church.
The quickest way would be to order the Certificates for John & Hannah. And Joseph & Elizabeth. using the Ref No.’s This will save hours of trawling registers at the Records Office.
Peter & Hannah ~ 1833 St. Margaret’s Parish Church I can do next time I’m at the records Office.

Greeting’s again………….. Caroline.
ALL the marriages appeared on one of my Discs. ……. They all look like they were by banns
But I will have to look at the originals Registers to gain any other information other than what you have given all ready….. But seeing the early dates then they could well be just one liners e.g. = Marriages Anno Domini :~1763 William Hall ~ Mary Bennet ….Married …3rd.Oct.
Re John Hall’s marriage to an Elizabeth ?
The following looks promising :~
Marriages Anno Domini :~ 1688.
John Hall.~ Elizabeth HOSKER. 4th. February. Belton. Leicestershire.
Notes :~ I’ll typed them as they appear :~
Of Thornock Shone Mthe County of Sullwer.
Sounds a bit like a place in Ireland ?
We’ll see what develops at the Records Office

Thank you very much for looking for the marriages and the info about the burials, would appreciate it if you do manage to find the details of the marriage of Peter Smith and Hannah Betts. As you say it looks like the best way is to get the certs for the others.
Thanks again
