George Child was married 1894 and appears on the 1901 census, but I cannot trace him before that date and need to find a birth entry. The 1901 census says he was born at Worth in 1869 (the year appears correct as per his marriage and death cert), but I can find no trace of him. His father, also George, had died by 1894. |

My George didn't die until 1938, but his father, George, had died before 1894 when his son got married. Does that make sense? |

Am i missing something here? why has the search gone from looking for George Child to looking for George Clode ? |
|||
|
Marylyn | Report | 24 Mar 2008 14:31 |
I think there was a possiblity that the census showed Clode instead of Child, but it looks like there is no connection so if anyone out there can help trace a George Chikd prior to 1894 when he married I would appreciate your help. |

Bear in mind that a 'deceased' father could be a face-saver.....to cover illegitimacy |
