Jean - if you highlight the address and press Ctrl and C together and then put your curser in the address bar and press Ctrl and V together it should paste it in. You could try typing it in - not sure if that will work as well but worth a try.

Just added a bunch of photos that once belonged to my grandparents on to:

lostphotos.sgrboards.org

I know they are related, but knowbody in my family knows how so hopefully somebody will recognise them. I've also added some known old photos, so others can view them.

Linda

point your little arrow thingy at the begining of the bit you want to copy...

Then click the left hand mouse...still hold it down while your draw the arrow thingy over the address....this will highlight it.....

Let go of the lefthand clicker ....
Now right click over the blue line and you get a drop down box....click 'copy'.....

(i call this...it's now stored in my mouse) lol
====================

Now it's stored in your mouse you have to empty your address bar (blank)
Then...left click into the addy bar and you get the drop down box again.....click 'paste'

I do hope the experts are not reading this LOL but it's how i learnt it lol

Hello to all, something tells me that in the past Queens Messengers were recognised by a silver greyhound badge. Derek in France

Hi Victoria,

Great photos.

My husband thinks judging from the lanyard it's a Bandsman Uniform rather than Military.

What a wonderful set of photographs, I'd give my right arm for some of my family like those.

Hi All,

I do have some more photos that I’ll be adding tonight.

All the photos once belonged to my grandparents, but when they died when I was 2 they were split up between the surviving 7 children.

Since starting my family tree a year ago, I have been working on putting the photos back together by visiting my aunties and uncles and asking to scan the ones they have and I’ve presented them with the whole collection. Some of them were so old that they didn’t even know who they were, but they knew they were probably cousins or relations somehow.

I’ve managed to identify a few old photos by sending them to contacts through here, including photos of all my great grandfathers’ siblings!

I do hope to identify some more of these photos, so please keep a look out for more added over the next few days. Especially the photo of the young man with poppies around the photo as he looks like my family and we presume he died in WW1, but don’t know who he is.

And thanks Jean, I will change the description to a band uniform.

Thanks

I think people are getting mixed up between Vicky and Victoria. Vicky has added photos to Lostphotos and Victoria (me) started this thread and my photos are on photobucket. I did try Lostphotos but found it confusing!

AND I've just noticed - Vicky - I think Jean is referring to MY photo when she is talking about a man in band uniform. I asked people to take a look at the photo and try and identify the uniform.

Vicky/ faerykingdom - can you start your own thread so that no-one gets mixed up - including us!

Thankyou!

Thanks to people I met through this site I've managed to get in touch with a man who has two of the identical photos and has therefore named who the people on them are. Both are Driffields from the Elland area of Leeds. Another contact thinks that two of the photos could be Bells - sisters of Tom Read Bell and I think she is correct!! So it was definitely worth a try!

Still no further info on the uniform man - though it seems people think he could have been a military bandsman!
