That is an interesting find and could be Luick misspelt as Buck, I'm sure they were married prior to the children being born though, wouldn't it have beenhighly unusual to co-habit back then? |

There's this one. The image looks like Quirk but I wonder whether it may have been an original mistranscription - if the writing on the certificate was not particularly clear at the time the index was drawn up ... |

Andy, no it was not unusual, there were more "out of wedlock" births than we may think. |

It wasn't that unusual to get married after the first child was born - at least it showed promise of fertility and in some cases that mattered. |

Just had another look and that marriage to Mary Kik shows up on IGI. That's a likely mishearing/mistranscription. |
