Well thats a pleasant change, yesterday we had a twerp who wanted to grab a tree by pushing buttons.! You must check every detail before adding anyone, use it as a guideline by all means and how nice if it is yours too.! Have you got their cert, if not order it to be double sure. |

You could check the 1891 census and see if there's a Hannah Blunt that matches the details of Hannah Mason in 1901. |

If you have Nelly's birth certificate or marriage certificate, you could use that as a way to double-check it is the right one. If she married, it will usually mention her father's name and occupation, and her birth certificate will give you her parents' names (including mother's maiden name) which will give you checking points to get further back. |

Lindsey - I've got the wedding cert for John and Hannah and their ages add up to the ages of my great grandparents on the 1901 census. I know that they were also from this area - so it looks about right. Any other tips |

The reason witnesses could be another tick is if they are in-laws , sister/husband etc, |

Jill - that is my grandad - I have his cert. He was the youngest. He had a number of brothers and sisters. The only ones I now for sure and have an approx year of birth is Hannah and Nellie (taken fomr the 1901 census) |
