Good thought. Am trying to pin him down with either Sarah Agnes or Eliza in 1901 but no luck yet. I suppose it is possible they met up between census night in 1901 and 1903, but it doesn't really help age-wise. |

There is no marriage between a John Harrison and any woman called Bassett between 1895 and 1908 |

So, if they never married, John must have been with Julia when they registered Winifred? Because if your not married you can't register a child in someones name, unless they go with you. |

I don't know whether this is any help - it just occurred to me that Bassett may have been mistranscribed as something else. Or, looking at this 1891 census record, could Bassett be an anglicisation?? |

There's a John Harrison born 1879 Penrith who is a window cleaner in 1901. He's in Lancs though. |
