My Grandma, Ida Baker,(nee Heffer) died last year and it was not until we lost her that I heard a rumour that she was in service at the country home of the famous Alexander Flemming. The date must have been approximately 1930. Does anyone have any ideas of ways I could find out if this is true? I've already been in touch with the curator of the Flemming Institute, who has checked the archives, but no luck there. Does anyone else have an ancestor who worked there? |
