I strongly recommend that you get the marriage certificate of Henry Ramsbottom to Maria Leak. It will cost seven pounds online from the GRO, much cheaper then asking Shropshire Records office to do a search. It will also confirm Henry on 1881 with father James is the correct one. |

In the census return i posted William Vick is head of house, Maria is wife and Charles Garrett is recorded as father in law. |

I have a file on about her , If you are a member of the family tree ...Look up 1901 census ,Maria Ramsbottom born 1865 , you will get the result . Maria happened to be my great grandmother |

Not wanting to be picky here but the info on a census return doesn't prove where and when anyone was born. All it does is show what the enumerator recorded (and that may be different to what was actually said). |

The easy answer is to take all the information from certificates, starting with your own and work backwards one generation at a time, unfortunately it isn't as easy as that in practice. |
